Sorry if there’s already a thread been reading the CDWM thread with interest...but would to know any secrets about locationx3
I would love to have a budget big enough to go on it one day but they all seem to have 500k at the age of 21 these days 🤔
Any secrets kirsty and Phil seem lovely I hope they are as nice in RL

Not sure why people have a problem with hunting deer and pheasants with a rifle and shotgun respectively. It's a far nicer way for them to die than queuing up at the abbatoir after an uncomfortable and frightening 40 mile trip in the back of a lorry.

Notsohorriblehistory · 23/09/2018 17:30

@Joe66

Those privately hunted with a rifle.... what do you think happens after they are killed?

At least in an abattoir they will be eaten after death

Hanyu · 23/09/2018 17:31

Somerville, yeah, it was Vince. He gave an interview later and said he wasn’t really a coconut vendor. He also tried to claim he wasn’t really jealous of Joe. 😉

Harleypuppy, lord knows. It’s sad to think that there are still ongoing problems with the house even after all this time and that he ended up selling it. Must be soul destroying.

Hanyu · 23/09/2018 17:34

Notsohorriblehistory, they eat them. My parents live in the Highlands. There’s a lot of hunting up there. They shoot them and eat them. Not my parents, they just eat them.

WineGummyBear · 23/09/2018 17:39

I have long thought that going on Grand Designs is some sort of fertility treatment. Once the build is delayed and the costs treble, the long-suffering woman living in the caravan announces she is pregnant. You can set your watch by it.

Notsohorriblehistory · 23/09/2018 17:54

Fair enough

BikeRunSki · 23/09/2018 17:56

DH and I have often made the same observation WineGummyBear.

flirtygirl · 23/09/2018 18:38

I call it the Kevin effect. I think he inspires friskiness.

rallytog1 · 23/09/2018 19:00

I was on a C4 property programme once. It was a fab experience but the editing is very clever. We turned down a house that was tiny and really unsuitable but the programme made it look massive and as though we were really unreasonable to say how overpriced it was (2 years later that house is still for sale so we were clearly not wrong). The presenter was absolutely lovely though and spent some of the day on the internet off-camera to help us find the house we ended up buying.

Amaaaazing · 23/09/2018 19:16

God I love homes under the hammer! Every time the presenter pauses I try to guess the song that will follow Grin Totally agree with the beige...but most of the homes will be rented out so I guess that is why.

EverardDigby · 23/09/2018 19:44

I love LLL, but I've always wondered about the timescales as it's edited to look as though it's done over a couple of days but then sometimes someone mentions a week.

I also wonder how they get people to agree to having their properties on the telly and how limited this makes the number of houses they can show.

I agree too that their negotiation is a bit strange ("Some people may call this a cheeky offer" or going in much higher than I'd start at).

I'd be disappointed if they don't get on because it looks like they do!

My builder was on Changing Rooms - he said it was good fun, but as soon as the cameras were off all the crew had to get stuck in.

An acquaintance does furniture restoration for Kirsty - says she’s lovely but completely dippy and spends a fortune on restoring junk.

HeronLanyon · 23/09/2018 20:13

Great thread. Had completely forgotten house doctor which always made
Me laugh - Anne and Alistair’s dynamic was so funny. Well what a toaster Phil Spencer is to get licks killing animals when there is no need. Always loved jules Hudson (escape to the country) seems a genuinely nice guy slightly in spite of himself iyswimn. Originally an archaeologist I think.

HeronLanyon · 23/09/2018 20:13

Tossed not toaster. Ahem.

HeronLanyon · 23/09/2018 20:13

Oh good lord apols. Tosser.

SayZ · 23/09/2018 20:19

I love Jules Hudson too he seems like such a nice bloke and genuinely interested in people searches

WooYa · 23/09/2018 20:29

I preferred toaster Heron 😂

Nomorechickens · 23/09/2018 20:36

A friend of a friend was on the Sarah Beeny makeover programme. The bit where Sarah suggests a design change, the owners ignore it and do their own thing, and Sarah says it would have been better her way, was totally manufactured. She didn't suggest it and what they had done was fine. I do love these programmes but I wish they would vary the formula occasionally

Nessiej78 · 23/09/2018 20:44

Seeing the comments about the music choices on HUTH reminded me of this clip Slightly off the point of the thread and Apologies that it's Mr Tumble but it did make me smile!

buckeejit · 23/09/2018 20:55

Someone I knows brother met Phil at the airport after viewing a flat he'd just viewed in London & asked him what he thought. Showed him & Phil had been to see the same flat that morning. Told him it was great investment & all round good flat & to buy it & he did.

Buteo · 23/09/2018 20:55

HUTH music can be quite obscure at times - remember they played The Cure’s ‘A Forest’ one time for something wood related.

Joe66 · 23/09/2018 21:50

Notsohorriblehistory well round here we eat them. What else?

WiddlinDiddlin · 24/09/2018 01:05

Totally missing point of thread..

Yes Notso game is eaten, not all by the person who has paid to go out and shoot it, no, but by everyone involved, beaters, staff, etc, or it is sold to restaurants etc. It certainly isn't wasted!

Buxtonstill · 24/09/2018 14:09

Anyone remember what the CDWM thread had in the title, and I'll search. Thanks!

kittykitty · 24/09/2018 16:22

We had LLL film at our flat about 12 years ago. My daughter was just two and it was a bit of a bugger having to keep out of the place all day - and filming went on way longer than expected. But Kirstie and Phil (particularly Kirstie) could not have been more lovely and friendly - particularly to my dd. They wanted the two sisters in that episode looking for property to choose our flat (as did the sisters' parents) but the pair went for somewhere else in the end. But it's really nice occasionally to spot our old flat on reruns looking the cleanest and tidiest it had EVER been.
