it Shocks me every time I hear about how ride it is with known dealers inside.
Surely, if there was a proper will, it could easily be all but eradicated?

I love your username 😂😂😂

I quite like yours, Parkhead Paradise. My family are originally from your neck of the woods and at least a few all of them are rather ardent supporters of a football club based rather near there...

ShutUpBaz · 31/07/2018 20:43

Yes @Tessliketrees. Thats why I said usually.

Chemical components of any drugs change all the time. Dogs are simply a method that can be used for the sake of efficency and are usually pretty accurate.

DH is a London based Prison Officer so I am well aware of such limitations.

OP as a PP said, do some research.

esk1mo · 31/07/2018 20:44

tess have you seen someone on spice? google/youtube it, its absolutely horrific and it has caused heart attacks in many people, not to mention psychosis and other mental health problems.

many drug users claim it harder to get off than heroin.

mrjoepike · 31/07/2018 20:44

stop all paper ha.
you would have to stop all food, fabric as well.toilet paper blankets
a bunch of starving naked inmates.
and yes so many come from bad situations to start with
was floored when a 3yr old informed me "i wont be a man til i go to prison."..

Tiredemma · 31/07/2018 20:45

They also spray synthetic substances onto kids drawings and pictures.

esk1mo · 31/07/2018 20:46

butchy ⚽️🍀🏆Grin

Stoveding · 31/07/2018 20:47

You could just use known supplies for basic goods. If they become contaminated, start an investigation.

Ooh there’s loads of us Tims on here!

Westworld · 31/07/2018 20:47

**Have you ever been to a prison? Stood in line, waiting to visit?
It's bloody chaos with mums, babies, prams, baby bottles etc

The baby bottles sound really scary tbf Grin

Stoveding · 31/07/2018 20:47

Ok, so they can’t have kids drawings. Sorry, but it’s too risky.

XingMing · 31/07/2018 20:47

mrjoepike, I think that is the most tragic thing I have EVER read anywhere.

Stoveding · 31/07/2018 20:48

Suppliers, sorry.
Don’t let personal gifts etc in.

Tessliketrees · 31/07/2018 20:49

@esk1mo

Yeah, it sounds like a lot of other drugs but it's new so we can all get in a froth about it.

Just like LSD in the 60s

@ShutUpBaz

Not what I have read. Have look at some of the research. Shockingly low accuracy rate. The indications are that it is more the fault of the handler than the dog though. For example the false positive rate goes up significantly if the searchee is an ethnic minority.

SpecialBond · 31/07/2018 20:49

You're just making yourself look increasingly obtuse OP.

Honestly, half of A wing have superior political knowledge to you.

Beardedlobster · 31/07/2018 20:49

The problem isn’t just outsiders. Most prisons unfortunately have workers who will happily deal within the prison. There have been cases of prison nurses as well as officers and other professionals doing this too as essentially they have the monopoly on the population inside.

ParkheadParadise · 31/07/2018 20:50

Spice is nothing like LSD. Nothing.

It's not hysteria, this stuff is terrifying.

YeTalkShiteHen · 31/07/2018 20:51

Grin and YNWA 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

SpecialBond · 31/07/2018 20:52

Even the HM prison service and the MOJ acknowledge how much contraband is bought in by staff!

Fucks sake - you can get on MN but you can't Google?

BarbaraofSevillle · 31/07/2018 20:52

Some prisons won't let visitors with babies in, without a nappy change and use of prison equipment such as bottles etc, because that's the sort of thing you're up against.

The parent in prison gets to cuddle their baby and at the same time is fishing drugs, weapons or mobile phones out of the nappy or other stuff.

mrjoepike · 31/07/2018 20:52

xing it was 20 years ago and still makes me cry, havent looked into it but he probably is incarcerated by now.
we have tried for so long to stop the cycle but theres just not enough people money and resources in general to cope with it.the poorer society gets the worse it will get

Tessliketrees · 31/07/2018 20:53

@SpecialBond

Is it more terrifying than other drugs?

I didn't say the drug itself was like LSD I said the hysteria surrounding it is. Nothing thus far has dissuaded me from this view.

supercalifragilistic2 · 31/07/2018 20:53

I watched prison a couple of days ago, and apparently they get spice in by spraying on letters? Not even sure how that works?

You also have drones dropping things in, some prisons have the netting, but sadly the prison system is massively underfunded.

They will quarantine prisoners the believe have contraband, but once the drugs 'pass', the prisoners often have a way to get them onto the wing, despite the guards best efforts.

It's not a simple solution, you've essentially put thousands of criminals together, some of them are probably quite crafty when they get their minds on the job!

Stoveding · 31/07/2018 20:54

All the examples given on this thread of drugs getting into prison from friends/family could be solved.

Prison employees supplying is a harder issue, but doesn’t anyone agree that we should TRY?
