This is utterly distressing, as a mother of a child with ASD, and learning difficulties, this could quite easily be my dd in a few years time, and it makes me sick, that there are scum out there that could do that to a vulnerable person.

I believe the yobs have been found and arrested, their parents show no remorse, only the impact of this on their poor boys. No apology to the lady, the apple doesen't fall far from the tree it seems.

That poor poor lady Sad

Bramble71 · 30/07/2018 17:17

Abuse of disabled people drives me utterly mad. It's the lowest of low acts and I hope that anyone caught and convicted gets a very harsh sentence. I dare not read the story in the link as I know I will end up furious and upset.

Poptart4 · 30/07/2018 17:21

My son also has learning disabilities and autism and this has really hit a nerve with me.

Dragged up scum bags should be named and shamed but no they'll get a slap on the wrist and full protection.

There is no justice in this country. The criminals have mire rights than the victims.

Makes my blood boil.

Aeroflotgirl · 30/07/2018 17:21

They chose a vulnerable person as they knew she would be unable to defend herself, I would have given them a bloody good hiding if they had done that to me.

Aeroflotgirl · 30/07/2018 17:23

Exactly poptart, Howie the poor woman being protected then, sheistoo afraid to say anything😠😠😠😠

That poor lady so sad to see

I don’t agree with vigilantes but at times I have no concerns over guilty people feeling fear

And would rather their faces were not pixelated

How could a parent defend this

Pancakeflipper · 30/07/2018 17:32

How low and cowardly is that??
The poor victim must have been petrified.

Have they been arrested?
Have they got police protection in case some eggs and flours them? Bet police have better things to do than babysit cretins like this.

wotsittoyou · 30/07/2018 17:35

As an autistic woman with two autistic children, events like this make me literally shake with fear. I do not trust that our society is safe for people with autism or/and learning difficulties. The media is awash with horror stories about mistreatment and abuse perpetrated by parents, carers, teachers, 'friends' and strangers. If I could console myself by arguing that these examples are rare occurrences amplified by the media, I would. But I can't, because I encounter the shallow end of the attitudes that build and maintain this horrific behaviour daily - on here, in my own family, in my community. I think it's actually much more prevalent than most people think, though perhaps not so obvious as this incident.

This poor poor woman.

Aeroflotgirl · 30/07/2018 17:37

Bring back national service! The faces should not be pixalated, and they should face the full responsibility of their crime.

OP posts:
Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/07/2018 17:38

Fucking horrible nasty twats.
Let's hope they get a lengthy custodial sentence, and Let's see how big brave and
and hard they when faced with 'The bigger boys.'.
Sadly we all know what'll happen. Let's be under no illusion. They'll get a telling off and 50 hours community service.Hmm

Aeroflotgirl · 30/07/2018 17:38

3 out of the 4 have been arrested, so far.

OP posts:
Aeroflotgirl · 30/07/2018 17:40

4 of them, she must have been petrified, I occassionally go past our local shops and there are youths there occasionally, talking in foul language and shouting at passers by. I just ignore them, but they put me on edge tbh.

OP posts:
ThePrioryGhost · 30/07/2018 17:40

The only good thing I can see about this horrible story is that 4 lads carried out the horrific act, but look how many people are condemning it (not that I would encourage vigilantism; the police should be doing what is appropriate there). There are always more good people than bad ones.

Maybe with sufficient vehement and widespread condemnation, the message that it’s not ok - even if your parents never told you that; even if you think it makes you look like the big man on social media - will sink in for some others.

Otherwise it’s just too damn depressing.

That poor woman Sad

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/07/2018 17:50

We all remember the tragic case of Fiona Pilkington.. The poor lady who took her own and her daughters life by setting fire to her car.
The emotional pain and terror must have been so dire that she was probably past caring about the sheer agonising pain of burning to death.
As far as I know I don't think any charges were brought over that, but I'm prepared infact hope to get corrected.
Almost 12 years on hate crime is still rife.
and Cunts are getting away with it. I agree 110% about National Service.
Also do the parents not need a kick up the arse somewhere along the line. I mean yes okay. There is only so much control you can have over them at that age but to do that in the first place. The parents can't have taught them much in the way of morals and empathy ,can they

MotherofTerriers · 30/07/2018 17:53

The victim is too afraid to say anything and her attackers have police protection

Awful, just awful

Poor lady, I hope she has good support

WeirdCatLady · 30/07/2018 17:54

As I understand it, they are all now under police protection as they’ve been named on social media and threats have been made. I know I shouldn’t, but this news made me smile. Little toe rags, see how they like feeling scared and powerless.

Pancakeflipper · 30/07/2018 17:57

On FB there is an unpixalated version put up by Robin Armstrong comedian. The 4 youths look to be having a great time.

Stirner · 30/07/2018 18:00

Its horrifying but unfortunately the logical outcome of the social justice warrior policy of not holding young people to account. Bring back borstal.

bialystockandbloom · 30/07/2018 18:04

Any justice would see funding and resources at least equalling that of the police protection of the cunts that did this are likewise spent on support, protection and lifelong guidance for this woman - but somehow fucking doubt it. Utter fucking scum.

HelenaDove · 30/07/2018 18:06

Bunch of cunts.

Just seen a report of this on Anglia News and the words disability hate crime wernt even uttered.

NAME THE PROBLEM.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/07/2018 18:07

Fully agree, WCL. I think lots of people will be thinking the same. I ain't got an ounce of sympathy, either. If I had to swear on oath.
Like I said They've not so brave no are they. Theyre not tormenting someone vulnerable

AbsentmindedWoman · 30/07/2018 18:15

Did that links say they were 15 and 17? Shock Being that close to adulthood makes it even more sinister imo.

The world is spinning backwards. I thought we'd left these days behind.

Nonibaloni · 30/07/2018 18:18

This really chills me. My disabled ds is completely powerless to remove himself from situations like this. He’s only 8 but when the time comes that he wants to go out with pals I don’t know how I’ll cope knowing he can’t even runaway.
I’m extremely anti violence, I don’t believe in corporal punishment and I think violence begets violence. But presented with a situation like this is not sure I could control myself.
They ought to be prevented from working with vulnerable people but how to prevent them actually being near vulnerable people I don’t know.
We go to a youth club for children with the same condition as ds to a lesser and greater degree. In a group they are so much more joyful and relaxed, safety in numbers. And the more able (often not older) are so protective it can be hard to watch.

CanineEnigma · 30/07/2018 18:21

NAME THE PROBLEM.

Absolutely. Disability hate crime with a handy pairing of good old male violence. Plenty of "poor boys" coming from the parents -
"She told MailOnline: 'We can’t say anything about what went on over the weekend but my son’s name has been leaked over the internet and we’ve had threats.

‘I’ve reported the abuse to police and we are now under their protection. If anyone comes to our home to cause problems, we have a number we can call which will get the police here straight away.

‘This isn’t what we need. It's my son’s 16th birthday and we’ve got family here for his party.’ " Poor lad, having his party ruined.

And one of the Step-mums coming out with a classic boys-will-be-boys style "'He's not a tearaway - he's just been a stupid boy'.

She said: 'He got caught up in it all, it was a stupid thing to do.

Nonibaloni · 30/07/2018 18:24

I was a pretty stupid teenager, I got caught up in a lot of nonsense. Never assault though.
