Exciting times here in Berkshire, I’m happy & relaxed for the first time in weeks! ⛈

10 minutes downpour with thunder/lightening followed by light rain for the last half hour wooooohoooooo!!

ohdeardeardear · 27/07/2018 17:18

Not in Chester. I'm begging for rain and cold!

Sixgeese · 27/07/2018 17:20

Just started in North East London, long may it last!

SockQueen · 27/07/2018 17:20

Thunder and a brief downpour half an hour ago here in Milton Keynes, now steady rain. I'm so happy!

JadziaSnax · 27/07/2018 17:20

Any chance of sending the rain to Lancashire? I'm melting Grin

PickAChew · 27/07/2018 17:20

Our rain lasted less than 10 minutes and the decking is dry already.

Can't be too greedy, though. We had a cracking storm last Monday and rain last Friday.

YearOfYouRemember · 27/07/2018 17:22

I've just brought my Guinea pigs and washing in as I had a weather warning and the sky over ^ was looking ominous. No wet stuff yet…

LakieLady · 27/07/2018 17:22

East Sussex: heavy rain for 10 minutes, then it stopped for 20 minutes, then it rained hard again for about 5 minutes.

I can still hear thunder though, and not very far away imo. The air is so much fresher, it's heavenly.

BarbarianMum · 27/07/2018 17:22
Envy

We had 5 min rain last night that's just served to make everything far more humid today. Were supposed to have thundery showers on and off all day. Nothing, nada, zip. Blue skies and yet more sunshine.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 27/07/2018 17:25

Supposed to rain next few days in Lancashire

NoLightInTheTunnel · 27/07/2018 17:26

I'm in Suffolk which has been one of the areas hardest hit by the heatwave. It's sweltering and wall to wall sunshine.

We're on yellow alert for thunderstorms between 14:00 and 02:00 - don't know why they're warning us, as everyone will be dancing in the streets! Don't know how thunderstorms are supposed to happen without a cloud in the sky though Confused. The only thing green in my garden are the weeds, and even they're succumbing.

Bluelonerose · 27/07/2018 17:26

Dry as a bone in the Midlands. I've just brought my 3rd load of washing in. Am jealous of you all with rain.

According to my weather it SHOULD be raining an hour ago Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2018 17:27

YY Midlands here too. The sun has gone in but nothing happening yet...

LakieLady · 27/07/2018 17:30

Bloody hell, a few flashes of thunder and my internet connection keeps dropping out. Bloody useless BT.

Piggywaspushed · 27/07/2018 17:30

Stopped in Beds. Of course.

murasaki · 27/07/2018 17:34

Absolutely pelting it down here. Thunder, lightning, the works. We may be in the eye of the storm

Blushah · 27/07/2018 17:38

mura where are you??

Soubriquet · 27/07/2018 17:42

Send it here!!

We had some showers yesterday but they lasted 5 mins and then it got even hotter and muggier.

Supposed to have had thunderstorms today...yet they haven't turned up and it's so hot and sticky.

Everything is sticking to me without me even moving.

BrettAndersonscheekbones · 27/07/2018 17:42

Waft it in the direction of Kent please, we're DESPERATE.Smile

murasaki · 27/07/2018 17:43

Blushah - Croydon. It has been going crazy. The cat is sat by the open back door looking most unimpressed.

LakieLady · 27/07/2018 17:44

The rain has made the dog go mad!

She keeps running out into the garden, and running round and round in circles, so fast that she's actually leaning over.

She's 13, I had no idea that she could still run that fast.

murasaki · 27/07/2018 17:45

There's nearly a centimetre of water in the ash tray I left on the table outside.

LakieLady · 27/07/2018 17:46

It's moving from west to east, Brett, and has just stopped in East Sussex, so should be with you soon.

Crunchymum · 27/07/2018 17:46

Had a few lightning strikes, some thunder and some more rain here in North London. Its dark and oppressive and still very humid.

bruffin · 27/07/2018 17:46

Weve finally got the rain in Herts
