My DH just tried to get near me and I couldn’t believe it. We are both just lying here sweltering. I can’t imagine doing anything that would make me more sweaty. Or touching his hot hot skin.

OP posts:

I live in Australia and almost everyone has an air conditioner, it's an essential, not a luxury. How do you keep warm in winter? A campfire/fireplace? Air conditioners are reverse cycle ie used in winter to keep you warm, and summer to keep you cool.

I don't know what else you'd use to keep warm/cool? shrugs.

SalemBlackCat · 27/07/2018 08:33

We do have ceiling fans and pedestal fans, but in the middle of summer they are as useless as tits on a bull, in 35c heat. Just circulating hot air. Ok for the early morning hours then around lunch time the air con goes on.

MrsPear · 27/07/2018 08:34

It wasn’t too hot in London last night Blush

Flyingpompom · 27/07/2018 08:40

Salem, we have heating, but there is rarely any need for air conditioning. It's currently the hottest summer since 1976 and even now it's only mid 20s in lots of places.
So air conditioning would be a massive waste if money.

Gwenhwyfar · 27/07/2018 08:44

"So air conditioning would be a massive waste if money."

And of energy.
Unfortunately most large workplaces have it - mine is on all year and often comes on in the winter!

SallyStartsSinging · 27/07/2018 08:45

Respodad 🤮

MrsGrindah · 27/07/2018 08:49

Salem, we’ve managed to crawl out of the 18th century!

It’s all about NEED. This is extremely rare for UK as we mostly have a temperate climate.Air con would be an unnecessary expense for most people.

Basta · 27/07/2018 08:50

No less sex than when it was cooler. Hmm

OrdinarySnowflake · 27/07/2018 09:09

Salem- air con units are a very inefficient way to heat houses, in the UK most aren't built with lots of open plan spaces, so you'd need lots of vents, most have heating systems and houses are built to maximise heat.

Worth remembering last summer, there was only a week of the school summer holidays where it was hot and dry enough to wear shorts and sandals, we entertained dcs around rain showers! This heat is very unusual for the UK, but winter's where there's whole months where it doesn't get above 4/5 degrees and fears of older people dying from the cold is much more normal for us.

We plan for the normal conditions, which is around 24/25°c being a "nice summer day", and rain at least twice a week, but winter being harsh and while we don't normally get a lot of snow, it is cold for more than half the year.

Genuinely thought they’d be a few more here who instead of having any sort of sexy time had to also talc their husbands balls?!

This makes me worry, does this mean his balls are bigger? Saggier? Than the general MNs husbands? Too much thinking time here!

BadderWolf · 27/07/2018 09:14

I once DTD with a BF in hot temps. Over 35C. "Sweaty" didn't cover it. Many years ago but to this day it remains one of the funniest and most revolting events of my life.

I wasn't going to go there publicly but did wonder why he needed assistance, but seriously didn't want to give it too much thought!

FabricBug · 27/07/2018 09:33

We did the dead and a lightning bolt went off so I said to DH "babe did you see the fireworks?" And burst out laughing.

Racecardriver · 27/07/2018 09:36

YABU Wink

It has to be significant obesity or a physical disability. I'm not sure why poster keeps posting about it.

happymummy12345 · 27/07/2018 09:45

Wasn't that warm here yesterday compared to other places. Nothing like that for us after I tripped and fell yesterday. In a fair bit of pain, so no chance of that for a while

SharronNeedles · 27/07/2018 09:46

We did...but we adopted the T position so minimal touching

DramaQueenofHighCs · 27/07/2018 09:51

The car had aircon and It's in the garage. YABU! Grin

ParsnipsAreTheDevil · 27/07/2018 09:56

DTD in SE London last night. Was 31c in the bedroom but lush with the dyson fan on.

I think it was an attempt at levity as was mine about not thinking too much about it! Probably both need to add Grin Grin Grin

Sitranced · 27/07/2018 10:28

YABU - hot and sweaty sex is the best - slippy slidy.

QuinionsRainbow · 27/07/2018 10:50

Did it last night without too much thought about the heat. When you're up for it - as we were - you just get on with it and enjoy it!

Bluntness100 · 27/07/2018 11:26

The thing is, if you can't talc your own balls, you can't wash them either. Or wipe your own arse. As such, it's really not funny and it didn't need repeating.

It's like ok fine you need to talc your husband's balls as he can't manage it due to physical limitations, we get it move on, others can't do it either and it's not something to poke fun at,

THEsonofaBITCH · 27/07/2018 11:30

After this I'm done but more took it like:
He is so big he had to use two hands to lift, ahem, himself out of the way to expose his rather large brass balls so I could talc them for him as the heat expanded them even larger and the constant clanging was getting too much for quiet enjoyment at home. Grin TTFN

LeighaJ · 27/07/2018 11:30

I think the OP and others are just using the hot weather as an excuse not to have sex. If you're just not in the mood regardless of weather then say that.
