Read an article/interview Meatloaf did and he was saying that he won’t ever tour again, can barely get out of a chair etc

AIBU to listen to his music and be upset I’m not going to see him in concert ever again?! I’m 24 and only got to see him once! Sad

What singers / bands make you feel that way? Smile

Leonard Cohen and Prince. Saw them both once, it wasn't enough!

Also very sad I never got to see Bowie.

Skittlesandbeer · 24/07/2018 18:36

I think you may have dodged a bullet with Meatloaf. He sang live at the Australian football final in 2011 and was so so bad. I take no pleasure in saying it, it was truly depressing.

What’s worse than not seeing your music idols live? Seeing them live and realising they have no business being on stage. Don’t trash your legacy, man. I can’t even listen to his records with the same pleasure now. Don’t look it up on utube, you’ll never unhear it. Trust me.

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 24/07/2018 18:36

Loved seeing Mr Loaf live.... yep, sad I won’t see him again.

Would have loved to have seen The Smiths

ILikeyourHairyHands · 24/07/2018 18:37

Tom Waites is on mine and DH's list if he ever tours again. It's unlikely though.

Saw Patti Smith recently, she was amazing, would highly recommend if she ever does another UK tour.

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 24/07/2018 18:37

Lemmy.
Saw him a few times and he was the first ( and only) bloke I thought I would be a groupie for. Gutted that never happened.
I am still massively impressed he was out 3 days before cancer killed him and also that he went after his birthday but just before the New Year,
I like that he didn't feel the need to hang on. So cool.

megletthesecond · 24/07/2018 18:38

Prince. I'd always planned for him to be the dc's first gig. And now it will never happen.

I never got to see The Stones either. I doubt they'll still be going in 5/6 years when I get my evenings back Sad.

ForalltheSaints · 24/07/2018 18:38

Mark E Smith
REM (though at least they are all alive)

Hadjab · 24/07/2018 18:38

Bowie, The Eagles

hattiebugatti · 24/07/2018 18:39

George Michael is one of the singers that upset me most when he died.

I think he was super talented, he had a great voice, and he was a lovely man. I still cannot believe he has gone. I was lucky enough to see him live though (with WHAM!) And I also saw the awesome PRINCE too (Both were in the 1980's...) Never saw BOWIE though, and I loved him too. It saddened me when all 3 died, but for some reason, I cried a lot when George died...

Iblinkedandiamold · 24/07/2018 18:39

Linkin' Park for me too. Saw them when they supported Metallica amazing.
Avicii, gutted I will never see him.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 24/07/2018 18:39

Phosphorus, get over to the UK next time Nick Cave's touring, he's amazing live and does tour fairly often.

OzziePopPop · 24/07/2018 18:39

Nirvana/Kurt Cobain, I saw them live a few times, including the last Glastonbury they did but it wasn’t enough.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 24/07/2018 18:39

Gutted that I never saw David Bowie. Growing up in the Scottish highlands, we didn’t get to see many bands.

shatteredstudentmum · 24/07/2018 18:40

Chris Cornell. Saw him do an acoustic evening and his voice was amazing.

I've seen Meatloaf twice and it was a fabulous show.

CountArthursgroupie · 24/07/2018 18:41

I didn't go and see Genesis in their last concert ever because my colleague was on holiday leaving me in charge of the office, and I wouldn't take a sickie. I was made redundant the very next week. 😢

OliviaStabler · 24/07/2018 18:44

Freddie Mercury. What a showman

WhentheDealGoesDown · 24/07/2018 18:45

Glad I saw the Stones last tour, cost a fortune but you never know if it is the last time

Likewise a Bob Dylan, who I thought was excellent but a DH told me to go with someone else next timeShock

Nick Cave tours quite a lot and was brilliant when we saw him so good chance there to see him

IKnowItsTIMHONKSTIMHONKS · 24/07/2018 18:45

Type O Negative
Nirvana (at least 12 years too young!)
Stone Temple Pilots with Scott Weiland
Alice in Chains with Layne Staley
Soundgarden - got to see Chris Cornell perform solo though so at least I have that
I doubt I'll ever get to see Pearl Jam...

AdoraBell · 24/07/2018 18:46

George Micheal for me too 😢

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 24/07/2018 18:46

Oh god i thought he was dead!

The relief!!!

Roussette · 24/07/2018 18:46

Michael Jackson. I've got the tickets framed for the o2 concert on the wall here, I decided to keep them instead of getting money back. He died a few weeks prior to the concert

WhatAnAbsolutePenis · 24/07/2018 18:47

Terry Pratchett will never be able to write another book. He will never be able to exist again. The world lost an absolute legend when he died.

CheekyRedhead · 24/07/2018 18:54

Michael Jackson saw 3 times in 1992
Had tickets for Nirvana Sad
Saw Bowie at Glastonbury 2000
Wish I'd seen The Smiths

oyYou · 24/07/2018 18:57

Chester Bennington from Linkin Park.

So sad I missed his show last July.

So sad for him.

Sparklepunk · 24/07/2018 18:58

I did manage to see The Cramps in 2006 at The Astoria. I was at the last stray cats gig in the UK also
