This heat is slowly killing me off.... But I don't want it to end either, would just be nice to have a good night sleep 😴😴😴

I’m up - partner has just gone off to work and ndn has decided to play music since quarter to three.....we make sure we are extra quiet so try and not disturb her and it isn’t every night that he’s up at this time - think this is her being PA after I asked her not to play music and sing along to it when in the adjoining bedroom the other month at half midnight.......wouldn’t be so bad but when she is on early shift she wakes us up every time slamming the front door but I’ve never said anything......

Foslady · 26/07/2018 04:22

Just been round and hammered on her door - looked thothe blinds and she’s put the home shopping channel on and gone to bed......wtf is wrong with some people? Why the hell if she has an issue can’t she have talked to me, i’m One of the most approachable people ever, always been friendly and said hello - i’ve Never had this before - I mean, I don’t even hoover until the afternoon as her blinds are always down and I never know if she’s had a bad night or anything, dd’s Quiet, only ever listens to music through her headphones - my dad used to work nights so I’m über sensitive about making noise. I work all dot and am out of the house from 8 until half 5, hell - it’s rare I have the TV on as I tend to be on here instead!
Oh well, now to try and calm down and get another two hours sleep - even my alarm is a vibrate one on my phone!!!

Foslady · 26/07/2018 04:24

Oh, and the couple who lived there before her said they never heard me, and I haven’t changed my routine

Bezm · 26/07/2018 04:30

I'm up because my new grandchild was born 2 hours ago! Can't want to meet him xxx

ThePrioryGhost · 26/07/2018 04:36

I am. No matter what I try, my 6 month old baby sleeps for 3 hours maximum, wakes up for a feed, then refuses flatly to go back in the cot. Last night I tried putting her to bed early; the only result was that she woke up at 1am instead of 3am. I haven’t had more than 2-3 hours of unbroken sleep since she was born, and it’s absolutely killing me (and our relationship) :(

She also will not sleep during the day, unless it’s on me or in the car.

Hubby does his best, but she screams for the breast, and he has to be up for work/our older children first thing anyway. We can’t co-sleep because it’s not recommended with our type of mattress. I didn’t know it was physically possible to be this tired.

LanguidLobster · 26/07/2018 04:40

Oh that's sweet Bezm. You'll meet him soon and wriggle his little toes!

I can never sleep when I stay at my mother's so I'm grumpily waiting until 6am when eateries open and I can race off for breakfast.

Can't stop thinking about feet, someone in Chat was on about 'footner' and I've never heard of it before

ProudDaddy69 · 26/07/2018 04:52

I’m awake! DD decides to wake up and thinks it’s time to play! We fed her, she’s KO and now I’m counting sheep!

Thinking if I should go to work today, or pull an excuse to wfh!

I’ve been up since 3.50am...DS (7mths) who’s usually a fab sleeper is in my bed as he’s been really poorly this week with tonsillitis and he’s been thrashing around and crying with wind for the past 1.5hrs!

Just read you may break previous UK heat records on Friday. You can't do normal when it gets that hot. Your body has two ways to cool you down. Sweating is the obvious one, and the less obvious is radiation, your heart sends blood to the surface to cool your skin.

This latter can lead to sudden feelings of dizziness, especially true for the elderly. Good idea to keep an eye out for your older neighbors and family members. With any luck rain will be on the way soon. Meantime slow down and keep hydrated (good for pets, too).
