This heat is slowly killing me off.... But I don't want it to end either, would just be nice to have a good night sleep 😴😴😴

Just been interviewed out on the drive, in my "not quite up to the job" summer heatwave nightwear.

Smoothsailing9 · 24/07/2018 03:25

Wide awake here. Nothing to do with the heat though, just chronic insomnia as usual. What is slightly unusual is DS (14) also came downstairs saying he can’t sleep and is now lying on the sofa in his pants fast asleep, dribbling 😂.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 24/07/2018 03:34

@WowLookAtYou

Busy night! Is it bad that a tiny part of me wishes that someone would try to steal my car just to give me something to do?

WowLookAtYou · 24/07/2018 03:37

Can't get back to sleep and I've got to work in the morning. Primary teacher who hasn't broken up yet. A whole day, trapped in a classroom with 30 kids and no aircon or fan!
Kill me now!

TheSassyAssassin · 24/07/2018 03:44

Oh Wow, that's so not wow! Flowers for anyone struggling with things other than the heat. Hot and fed-up this end. Lying in bed fantasising about aircon Confused and wishing DCat didn't want to snuggle Hmm

MamaHechtick · 24/07/2018 03:48

Read the thread earlier asking if people left their children's bedroom windows open and I think it got me worrying.

IL's are visiting and I just woke up convinced someone was in the house, panicking thinking what to do, of course it was just fil using the bathroom.
Now I can't get back to sleep.

YoYotheclown · 24/07/2018 03:50

Got woken up by a bloody mosquito buzzing around my ear. Angry.
Now can’t sleep. Sad

McFugget · 24/07/2018 03:53

I'm awake because my little cat's got himself stuck in NDNs garden and can't scale the wall. Been traipsing around the neighbourhood looking for him since 11, then weeping whilst waiting for missing flyers to print off. Just as they were finishing printing, I heard his annoyed little yowl over the wall! Posted a note through neighbour's door, so am drumming fingers impatiently until I can collect him.

I'm so sorry for you loss makingmyway. We love them so much, don't we?

Moore6701 · 24/07/2018 03:54

Still up - large animal vet - just finished a cow Caesarian. Now in the practice cleaning kit and making eye drops for a dog that’s coming in tomorrow. Don’t like going to bed with a dirty kit.

Moore6701 · 24/07/2018 03:57

Makingmyway10- very sorry to hear about your dog - it’s horrible when you lose them

Pyracantha1 · 24/07/2018 03:59

So I was happily sleeping when around 1am somebody was shouting outside. With the open windows it felt as though somebody was shouting in my ear!! That completely woke me up.

Still awake! Both my ds's slept early so no doubt will be up by 6am

anxiousanxiousness · 24/07/2018 04:05

Been awake on and off since 1am. DD1 cane in to my bed first because she was hot. DD2 then came in and BF continuously before I got up to get her some water. Now laying on the sofa bfing DD who wont stop nipple twiddling and it's driving me mad. I have to be up for work in 2 1/2 hours.

strawberrisc · 24/07/2018 04:07

Can’t sleep at all since my teenager screamed at me that I’m a “fucking twat”. Need to be getting up for work in a couple of hours.

Notabee · 24/07/2018 04:25

Wide awake here too.
Too much on my mind.

MrsPawsitive · 24/07/2018 04:38

We're expecting 47ºC here tomorrow. It's awful.
Try wrapping ice cubes in a damp tea towel and then place towel with ice on back of your neck. It really helps for getting to sleep on hot nights.

LinoleumBlownapart · 24/07/2018 12:49

47!!!!! ?????? Surely you mean 37

stayathomer · 24/07/2018 14:45

Timshort just saw this now, hope holiday goes okay and you're okay Flowers

stayathomer · 24/07/2018 14:46

Also strawberr hope you got on better today with your teenager

Bumble1830 · 24/07/2018 19:46

Hope we all manage to get some shut eye tonight, for those of us who can't sleep due to weather. Looks like there's rain coming so fingers crossed.
For everyone else whose having personal struggles, hopefully things seem better today. Flowers

No real rain forecast here...but def some hotter nights...soooo tired 😴

MissConductUS · 24/07/2018 20:50

In New England we had a crazy hot late June and early July (high temps around 35) , but it's been much milder since then, with highs around 28 and quite a bit of rain.

We still run the aircon, but just during the day.

MrsPawsitive · 26/07/2018 03:41

Sorry not to answer sooner Linoleum but yes, 47º. Not quite Death Valley but close enough. Heart thumping warm but not too humid, which is what makes heat feel especially bad in otherwise relatively moderate climates.

Theonlygirlof6 · 26/07/2018 03:45

I’m trying to post something and I’ve been a member for a long time and I’ve committed on threads etc but I can’t find how to post a new thread .... can anyone help me .... sorry for jumping in here x

LinoleumBlownapart · 26/07/2018 03:55

MrsPawsitive not UK, I was going to say! I live in a dry climate too, so 40+ in summer. I can't stand the heart and humidity in the UK at summer time. Not nice. I lived in Florida and Rio de Janeiro...nasty humidity, never again!

LinoleumBlownapart · 26/07/2018 03:56

Heat, obviously not heart!
