Or IRL does anybody actually iron super king size bedding??

I don't normally - and we are fine with that cos they are clean and get crumpled anyway. I do iron the single bedding but SK is such a massive faff. However DP's are currently staying and in our room and DM has commented on my unironed sheets... aibu to tell her to try and wrestle them on the ironing board?!

Nope! I did start to iron pillowcases but they looked odd against the crumpled duvet so I leave them to match now

sulflower · 24/07/2018 07:47

I like ironing and iron king size bedding but I would struggle with SK bedding!

I ironed a king size quilt cover and that was a nightmare, never again . Wonder if its easier with a steam press? But since I dont have one, I will never know

Grin I fold mine lengthways twice, iron, fold, iron, fold until it's put away size. I have a steam generator and it does a good job.

cookiesaurus · 24/07/2018 07:59

No way! Changing the bed is the worst chore already!!

strawberrry · 24/07/2018 08:04

I don't iron bedding, towels, underwear, pyjamas and any clothes I can get away with! Life's too short, yanbu!

CrackerCrisp · 24/07/2018 08:05

No. No no. I don’t iron anything unless it absolutely has to be ironed. I include the previously mentioned Hama beads in this.

BrownTurkey · 24/07/2018 08:12

Mum, I admire your skills, but I made different life choices.

Mominatrix · 24/07/2018 08:14

My bedding is always ironed - that is why I hire a cleaner!

Anyonewhoknows · 24/07/2018 08:19

I run the iron over my duvet cover whilst it is on my bed.

ChaffyMcChaff · 24/07/2018 08:23

Mine doesn't need ironing...it looks fine to me 🤷‍♀️. But then, I rarely iron anything! Clothes get hung on hangers to dry and most of them are completely wearable if you do this I've found!

slovenlys · 24/07/2018 09:22

I have an emperor bed and iron the sheets. It's a nightmare but they feel soooo smoooooth after it's worth it

mrbob · 24/07/2018 09:23

I haven't ironed anything in a decade. So definitely not

Confusedbeetle · 24/07/2018 09:25

Mostly I do because I love the feel of freshly ironed sheets. However, I do cheat a bit by folding and ironing so not all get pressed in a single layer

DontCallMeCharlotte · 24/07/2018 09:32

I ran a B&B. Don't talk to me about ironing superking bedding... but (a) I used a press and (b) it looked amazing.

I don't do it now though and you should tell your Mum to get a life - like you have.

(Is she the last of the housewife generation?)

thethoughtfox · 24/07/2018 09:36

I get the super smooth high thread count ones which need little ironing and give that cool smooth feeling on the skin like freshly ironed sheets. I do the pillowcases and a half assessed attempt at the duvet cover

Popsicle434544 · 24/07/2018 09:44

I iron my super king bedding, always have, I also iron all my kids ones aswell, I'm a strange one though, I love ironing Grin

user1510568216 · 24/07/2018 09:55

This is my DM. She irons everything! Life is way too short.

9amTrain · 24/07/2018 10:07

I currently don't even have an iron here.

I just blast the hairdryer against my shirts whilst sweating and crying, hoping the creases disappear.

bumfloss · 24/07/2018 10:08

I don't iron full stop Blush

bringincrazyback · 24/07/2018 10:16

Life is way too short to iron bed linen unless it's for guests. Grin

BendydickCuminsnatch · 24/07/2018 10:21

I don’t iron bedding but you can iron it once it’s on the bed if you really want to. Someone’s probably already said it but it blew my mind!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 24/07/2018 10:22

We have a SKS and I never iron any of the bedding. It's enough of a pain folding it up to put in the airing cupboard. I wouldn't be without fitted sheets but they are a PITA to fold.

We have a KS guest bed and I do usually iron the pillowcases, but that's it. I recently bought a new duvet cover for it - with a dark multicoloured pattern so TBH you can barely tell whether it's been ironed or not. In any case we don't invite the sort of guests who would tut tut or give a toss.

AWhistlingWoman · 24/07/2018 10:23

I iron mine but I love ironing. As a result, I have a huge ironing board and a steam generator which makes it a lot easier to iron super king bedding.
I also do need to give up ironing!

Gotthetshirt23 · 24/07/2018 10:26

I don't own an iron .

BagelGoesWalking · 24/07/2018 10:34

NO! But I don't really iron anything, just dry shirts on hangars and send off a batch to be ironed. Yes, I'm spoilt but I spend very little on clothes, makeup, holidays so £10 every now and again is my treat. Everything else is folded.

INeedMoreCakeInMyLife · 24/07/2018 10:41

I do.. I strip, wash and iron all beds twice a week.. Very occasionally I've not ironed the Spare bed one. I have one of them steam Station irons so it takes minutes.
