It's a tricky one. Trying to buy our first home after renting. I'm scared and want to make sure we make the right choice. Haven't viewed the houses yet but can't help looking at the listings.
I want your honest opinion and why you like/dislike them.
About us: couple in their late 20s/early 30s. No kids yet but potential start thinking of having kids in the next couple of years. Location wise both houses are perfect. Please MNers I need all the help this is already so bloody stressful :(

OP Elizabeth Court looks lovely with a wonderful garden and view out the back. The flow of the house looks good too and it is detached and has been recently reduced.

Crunchymum · 21/07/2018 14:59

The kitchen woukd massively put me off of the first house.

The fitted wardrobes would put me off the second.

Obviously it's easier and cheaper to remove the wardrobes so by default I'd go for house 2.

Although I prefer house 1 from the outside.

Jane1727 · 21/07/2018 15:11

I prefer number one, bigger rooms and nicer looking from the outside.

JustLikeBefore · 21/07/2018 15:44

the location of Elizabeth court is out on limb housing estate, it only has 1 toilet, is quite small in comparison to the others. You could add an extension, or knock a wall down and add a wall.

But I wouldn't pay the same for that house as the other two.

Bluelady · 21/07/2018 17:22

It's the location that merits the price. It's an easy, scenic walk into town and much quieter.

autumnkate · 21/07/2018 17:55

They are very similar!

JustLikeBefore · 21/07/2018 18:00

bluebird ahh ok, from the map it looks miles away, but I don't know the area.
I just thought they were optimistic with the price.

GreenMeerkat · 21/07/2018 18:05

I prefer house 1.

Though it says no longer on the market so may have missed the boat now. Unless you've bought it?

Bluntness100 · 21/07/2018 18:11

Op, you need to get off the Internet and go view.

I can categically assure you you'll love some you thought you hated and hate some you thought you would love. Often you know as soon as you walk in the door.

So go see several, make a short list, make the appts and go see them.
