One of Martin Ponting's victims spoke out about how traumatic it was for people to now be calling the man who raped her a woman, and allowing him to move to a women's prison. This stuff matters.

There have been many good points raised on this thread but one that really caught my eye was asking whether the victim of rape, that caused him great trauma, would have the right to identify his rapist as being a man. (Even though that would go against the concept of "deadnaming" and is the worst thing in the world.)

Well that could be your take-away or you could see that the trans ideology isn't winning over as many people as you think. I suspect this isn't because of trans individuals (who are after all just people for good or bad) but because of an aggressively pursued agenda which silences debate or opposition. This kind of overwhelming ideology which demands people change their beliefs to accommodate them isn't going to be popular particularly when you have stories like these and this person being sold as a woman after some very male, horrifying violence.

Again, I don't think this person is representative of all trans people but I do think it highlights problems in the recording of crime stats and merging of prison populations (which should be segregated by biology imo) and people seeing these issues are not 'transphobic' they are anticipating problems which will require thought before changes are made to the law.

No one is saying that. They are saying that it is utterly repellent that a man who raped a baby is now calling himself a woman and is incarcerated with women because he has had surgery paid for by the state.

This person no longer has a penis so cannot rape anyone in the female prison. Yes they could be violent towards other prisoners but so could other female prisoners. Should prisoners be segregated by size and strength too? This is not the same as someone self identifying as male (but not transitioned) being in a female safe place. This is someone who has undergone a sex change being placed in a prison which relates to their physical gender with other criminals.
