To feel sickened that this man is being referred to in this way (WARNING UPSETTING CONTENT)

This man raped a three month old baby boy to the point where the baby needed corrective surgery.

He is now in a women’s prison in Canada where he has beaten up a female inmate.

THIS is where self ID leads. Men like this being incarcerated with women and their crimes being counted as female.

Go on, Mumsnet, delete me for deliberately misgendering a male baby rapist.

THIS.IS.A.MAN.

Perhaps this story will illustrate why feminists are so up in arms about self ID.

I would love to see even the staunchest anti-women transactivist tell me that this person is a woman and that they belong in a women’s prison.

In my opinion this is as a monster who doesn’t deserve to be titled as a man or a woman. A evil sick disgusting monster

LunaTrap · 18/07/2018 14:42

I'm feeling a bit sick to my stomach reading comments referring to this man who raped a baby as 'she' and 'her'. Wtf are people respecting the preferred pronouns of a fucking baby rapist. Using your penis to rape someone is about as male as it is possible to get.

Popchyk · 18/07/2018 14:42

FeminaSum

Did you read about the LibDem comments on Twitter stating that calling Ian Huntley Ian Huntley is transphobic and that anyone who does so is guilty of a moral failure?

Guido Fawkes link

TiffanyDoggett · 18/07/2018 14:43

@PasstheStarmix
I understand the sentiment but rapists are not monsters or bogeymen lurking in the shadows. They are men and the sooner we can name Male violence the sooner we can wage war on it.

Hyppolyta · 18/07/2018 14:43

That is a man.
It doesnt matter what surgeries he has had or what hormones he has taken.

He is a male, and deserves to rot in a male prison.

PasstheStarmix · 18/07/2018 14:44

In my opinion this disgusting individual doesn’t deserve to be called a man or a woman.

gunnyBear · 18/07/2018 14:44

@bigoldscaredycat

It was a genuine question. I take it you are.

Cryingrightnow · 18/07/2018 14:50

At least my bloody mum signed it MP did jack shit

FeminaSum · 18/07/2018 14:56

I hadn't seen that before, Popchyk. What twisted sense of morality must he have, to describe calling a murderer by his name as a 'moral failure'? And the concern for trans inmates, i.e. anyone who claims to be a woman. Never mind the actual women in women's prisons. Their safety doesn't matter to him.

I last voted Lib Dem in 2010. I can't see myself ever doing it again if they think this sort of thing acceptable. Not that the rest of the parties are any better.

Things like this are why we stop caring about being called transphobic. The first time I was called it, it made me stop and reflect and wonder if I was on the right side of the argument. Now calling a rapist man a man is transphobic. Saying that women don't have penises is transphobic. If I hear someone in the media has been called transphobic, I don't assume that they've said something hateful any longer. I assume they've said something sensible and fact-based.

"Would a mild-mannered trans woman who behaves as stereotypically female as you can get, be more of a woman than this individual?"

No of course not. Confused What a silly question.

Popchyk · 18/07/2018 15:05

The political classes are equally bloody clueless about all of this. Penny Mordaunt, the Women and Equalities Minister kicking off the Gender Recognition Act consultation by saying that the starting point is that transwomen are women. Why even bother consulting if you have made up your mind and are blind to the impact on women?

This will have to be a grassroots movement.

Ordinary people like us saying politely but firmly that we need to consider the issues properly and assess the risks to women and children.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 18/07/2018 15:09

You know the more I think about this and the precedent that it sets - and this has been borne out already by the public purse funding hormones and surgery - the more outraged I become.

When someone is a sex offender, part of the punishment is living with the consequences of being on the sex offenders register. Whilst the police may have records recording previous offences, the public do not. By allowing a sex offender to change their ID to a woman, it feeds their delusion and allows them to move forward and leave their past behind with the old identity. Thus instead of punishing them it rewards them. Reminder most if not all of these serious sex offenders don't feel remorse nor have a conscience for their actions - so consequences and limits are essential.

Yet people around them have a right to know their history for safeguarding. Presenting as a trans woman disarms many as they assume things like hormones make someone safe like a natal woman, someone who has transitioned can't be deviant and so on.

Coupled with tactics of aggressively threatening and silencing any dissent plus relaxing of historic safeguarding gives free rein to those who know how to groom and manipulate. They may be a minority but can be prolific offenders as JS.

Rewarding sex offenders is unconscionable .

LastTrainEast · 18/07/2018 15:13

Booboobooboo84 A man can't actually change into a woman. The only way you could convince me that you were a decent human being would be if you could convince me you were educationally challenged and unaware of your ignorance.

Haddaway · 18/07/2018 15:14

I agree with you OP. A person who rapes a baby with his penis is a man.

Destinysdaughter · 18/07/2018 15:18

Wow over 3,000 signatures on that petition already!

LastTrainEast · 18/07/2018 15:23

strawberrisc it's not about them all being rapists. You're missing the point. It's that those who are rapists or abusers (whether they are trans or not) now have the legal right to enter a women's bedroom, toilet, changing room. Expose themselves and watch women (and girls) change. This is their RIGHT because they SAY they are women. If the police are called they will protect his right to do that.
The prison service will even lock women in the room with him so they can't run.

JAPAB · 18/07/2018 15:31

ApplesinmyPocket sounds as if you agree that behaviour, no matter how good or bad, has nothing to do with whether someone is a woman.

So theoretically at least, there is no reason why this person being referred to as a woman should sicken you any more or less than it would if it was a mild mannered trans woman.

Which was ultimately my response to the title of this thread.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/07/2018 15:31

Tara Desousa committed this rape 12 years ago, so to make it seem she has just self identified as a women to get into a women's prison is misleading. Her gender confusion has been documented throughout her life as she was bullied at school because of it.

She has fully transitioned so it would be reasonable to assume she is taking hormones and thus her muscle mass would be inline with any other woman.
Amongst other things she has been caught prostituting herself to other inmates and she has been married to a man.

It is unclear if she is in the 'general' population of the woman's prison. And if the Canadian prison service is anything like the UK's then they would have put her in the best place for not just her safety but also the safety of the other inmates.

Popchyk · 18/07/2018 15:37

You're mistaken, Walkingdead.

Adam Lacouban committed and was convicted of this offence.

link

Popchyk · 18/07/2018 15:39

And the rape was committed in 1999.

So 19 years ago.

tillytoodles1 · 18/07/2018 15:41

She can dress like a woman, call herself a woman, do most things a woman can do if she wants. She has a PENIS, so technically she's still a man.

That man will never be a woman!

LunaTrap · 18/07/2018 15:45

Those calling this male rapist of babies a woman, she, her. Have your brains actually fallen out? Or are you so desperate to be seen as right on and progressive that you have lost the ability to think rationally, or have any basic decency? Your posts are beyond offensive.
