Help! I have one dd. My mil has lived with us since we have been married.

She is a very strong woman and overruled me on everything. She sends me to bed if I sneeze.

When dd was 2 dh pissed off capturing butterflies in Africa and I havnt heard off him for years. Bastard. So mil got friendly with a wierd lady next door. She has big hair coils round her ears, writes books and has lots of kids.

I am concerned she is also involved in modern slavery as she has a woman living with her called Anna who does everything.

Anyway mil and this wierd Jo woman have colluded to send dd to a boarding school.

Aibu to just want to move away with dd. Start again and have some fun? Grin

Guess the book and keep going. Grin

Scheheramard · 19/07/2018 19:28

So I feel like I probably have micromastia, but the exercises I'm doing to improve the situation aren't helping. Someone must must must know how to help? Is anyone there to give some advice?

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 19/07/2018 19:29

My wife is barking mad

I'm considering bringing the prostitute I've set up in a house to live here.

I intend to employ her as my daughters nanny

My wife will never know.

What could possibly go wrong?

margotsdevil · 19/07/2018 19:29

It was the gruffalo. Only just discovering this due to a niece who is obsessed lol

glamorousgrandmother · 19/07/2018 19:29

ScreamingValenta · 19/07/2018 19:44

Don't think my last one has been identified yet unless I have missed it.

Lancelottie · 19/07/2018 19:49

Scheheramard, are you Margaret?

drudgewithagrudge · 19/07/2018 19:52

Yes the New Testament. Technically it was Peter's wife's mother that was healed. I often wonder what the disciples' wives thought about it all.

EmilyDickinson · 19/07/2018 19:57

Have you read The Testament of Mary by Colm Toibin, Drudge, that imagines Jesus' mother's view of it all.

iismum · 19/07/2018 19:57

Gasp got mine from about 3 hours ago - Dr Thorne. Sorry for disappearing after posting!

questionzzz · 19/07/2018 20:00

Gah I can't believe I am so thick! I could guess barely none of them- even the New Testament, and I went to a heavily Christian school where we prayed/read the bible etc etc every day.

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 19/07/2018 20:00

Yes Glam

I worked hard to ensure my daughter was a sensible sort with no silly notions and put her faith in facts

Today she came to my study and cried in my face that I have broken her and she doesn't know how to love.

What did I get wrong?

Scheheramard · 19/07/2018 20:01

Lancelottie Yes!

glamorousgrandmother · 19/07/2018 20:02

Hard Times?

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 19/07/2018 20:02

Yes Glam!

iismum · 19/07/2018 20:08

MrStark's had ... I think the Crimson Petal and the White (or something like that), and ... The Little Friend?

There was also Devil's Cub a while back - not sure if anyone got that?

I haven't done Bleak House! Our Mutual Friend is the only Dickens I've done.

EmilyDickinson · 19/07/2018 20:09

I do so want to do good in the world, to do something worthwhile with my life. Unfortunately although I have both brains and some money I'm living in the nineteenth century so my plan is to marry some great man as soon as I can and assist him in his worthy academic endeavours. I'm not too bothered whether he's young or good looking as such trivialities aren't important to me. I'm 19 BTW. AIBU?

iismum · 19/07/2018 20:09

Emily - Middlemarch!

LetticeFortescue · 19/07/2018 20:13

DS is a simple man, but a good one - he even has a trade and makes a respectable living from it. Recently he got involved with a flibbertigibbet who is now pregnant. He believes its his but I have my doubts. There have been rumours about this girl - she's been seen with a flash type called Gabe and some even say the baby is her god father's. I've put my misgivings aside for now - we're all god's children after all - but now they've come up with this ridiculous idea that they take a city break, just before the baby is due! I've told them the city will be very busy this time of year and they've no chance of booking in anywhere. What if the baby arrives early? That is not a stable environment to bring a child into the world? Should I say my piece or keep quiet?

glamorousgrandmother · 19/07/2018 20:15

Lettice The nativity? Joseph's mother.
