i see it all the time on here how "young" you are if early 20's. i'm 23 and have a 1 year old and live in a house with my partner. most of my friends have children and some are on to their second baby.

i can't imagine still going on nights out all the time or not being settled down. when do you think you start being a grown up if early 20's is young?!

i don't think anyone ever feels grown up. but when do you stop being labelled as young?

When you realise that you do eventually feel grown up. I agree with others - about mid to late thirties.

Being young is a nice label. You just don’t realise at the time.

I’m 20 with a child, a partner and a house. I have a “good” job with lots of career progression and just got offered a promotion. I actually do feel young, some days I feel like I’m playing house to be honest.

The other day we sat down almost as if waiting for our mums to cook dinner, and realised, shit I am mum! Grin

But physically you are still young.

I am 40 next year and over the past 2-3 years I have started to notice differences physically - my hair is going gray, I am getting the odd white haired whisker on my face I have to furiously pluck. I get hangovers far worse, I can no longer over indulge at a weekend and lose the weight easily - it sticks so I have to eat less or it creeps on.

There are some advantages I now suit and can carry off clothes that I would not have dreamed of 15 years ago when I was young (and I was) and my strong features that I hated when I was younger age much better.

People no longer label me as young as I am pretty much middle aged and I dont like it.

On the other hand my mum is soon to be 66 and she is starting to get the signs of old age so it could be worse
