Why do they publicise president's doctor visors and check ups, but a meeting with another head of state that everyone is aware of (which isn't an official one, so no state secrets being shared) is secret squirrel?

A generation ago an American president having quietness with a Russian leader would have had people baying for his blood. Remember how the Russia and US were always on the brink of nuclear war in the 1970s and further back to the McCartney witch hints (which trump would be very well aware if as his dads/his old lawyer was up to his ears in this).
