To think those loose flowery trousers that are so popular make even the slim look like they have an arse of an elephant?

The people I have seen wearing them are in their 30s, 40s and 50s and in fact 80s.

age is no barrier to the flowery trousers

YABU
In this heat, go for comfort.

I have an enormous ass. All my friends are dead jealous and say they wish they had it. HmmThis is beyond my comprehension. It is shit. Getting clothes to fit is a nightmare.

Getoffthetableplease · 16/07/2018 09:57

Yeah they do, annnnnd...?!

Love mine, especially in this weather plus if we're being all judgey I'd rather my flowery arse bouncing up the road covered in these than my cellulite all on show whilst my short shorts ensure I get nasty chub rub

IfNot · 16/07/2018 10:01

I wish people would unclench when someone says they don't like an item of clothing, or that its unflattering.
Fucksake, are we not allowed opinions on clothes?
I don't think OP is planning to put together some kind of Militia to round up the floral pyjama wearers in the streets.
I do have a couple of pairs but am WELL aware my backside looks like my Nan's sofa in them.
I might get some proper harem pants though, good idea.

PositiveVibez · 16/07/2018 10:01

I love mine. They are so comfortable. Not sure why you had to also link to a plus size pair OP 🤔. Was it to say 'and look at the SIZE of these ones for fatties'

Yabu.

Sparklesocks · 16/07/2018 10:02

If people are comfy in them and like how they look, who cares? Let people wear what makes them happy.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 16/07/2018 10:03

*I love my big bum (fat arse) and work on making it bigger every day (squats for life 😁).

Sucks to be you OP if you dislike your own so much you have to project that on others.

Who wants a skinny/flat/no arse?*

@AlphaBravo 🙌🙌

As soon as I stop feeling so shit (early pregnancy) I’ll be back on my squats! 🍑

Slartybartfast · 16/07/2018 10:04

I linked the plus size since the models in the other links were size 8 and other sizes they werent showing the model from the back

I would rather see someone in flowery trousers even if they do have a big bum than squeezed into thin leggings with their camel toe out there for the world to see

"it’s probably that big bums are now fashionable"

It's absolutely insane that a part of a Woman's body is in, or out of fashion.

I've always hated all these 'rules' about how we should look, or what to avoid or wear. The concept that we should focus on how to improve ourselves via clothes. It starts from childhood and little girls clothes can actually cut down on what they can do, which gives the idea that physical, boisterous play, isn't for them. A bugbear of mine is Women's shoes that you can walk in, but look good, or even flats. Thankfully sketchers have extended their range, as have other foot-healthy manufacturers.

""would they be ok on someone who's 37 and looks it?""

They are for all age groups. Why wouldn't they be?

Cantspell2 · 16/07/2018 10:20

I would like some flowery trousers but I don’t like the way most of them sit so high up the body.. to me and on my shape they would be better if the waiste sat more on the hips. On me those new look ones would be sitting practically under my boobs.

soupforbrains · 16/07/2018 10:25

I don't think those trousers are making that size 10 model's arse look big.....

I DO however think it's making her arse look hungry.... how do people find trousers which actually sit UP their arse crack comfy?

Also I very much love my Harem pants. I'm sure they do indeed make my arse look elephantine because, well, it IS elephantine. But as a PP wrote it's FAR better than getting my flabby thighs out in shorts or suffer the chub rub in other articles of clothing.

Tomatoesrock · 16/07/2018 10:26

All ages, they are just like wearing those linen trousers with flowers, I prefer the ones with straighter legs, I think the silk ones are slimming in a navy with flowers.

4littlebirds · 16/07/2018 10:30

I don’t wear them, because they are not very flattering on my shape. Size 10/ 12, but no hips.
Not particularly bothered by other people wearing them, often think they look lovely in them, but on me think the make my arse look saggy and shapeless.

tenterden · 16/07/2018 10:32

YABU and a bit bitchy tbh.

Tutlefru · 16/07/2018 10:33

Ha, I have a pair of these.

That was until a friends DC asked me why I was doing the school run in my pjamas...

Cismyass · 16/07/2018 10:33

No idea what you're on about OP but they sound lovely (on any size/shape). Everyone round here wears jodhpurs or walking kit so not very summery or glam!

AsTheMilesTheyDisappear · 16/07/2018 10:36

Elephants don't have fat arses they have flat bony arses.

Completely misses point of thread but someone must speak up for our pachyderm friends Wink

WeightedCompanionCube · 16/07/2018 10:37

I have several pairs of them. My arse IS huge - my arse will be huge in whatever I dress it in - so I may as well be comfortable in this bloody heat.

I dress for me - I don't dress for the rest of the world's approval - and they're soft, non restrictive, as cool as anything can be in this weather and comfy.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 16/07/2018 10:40

well obviously as women we should only choose clothes that make us look as though we are taking up as little room as possible.

CocoaGin70 · 16/07/2018 10:40

My DD has got a pair. She's stick thin, size 6/8 and she looks fine in them. But her BF said "why are you coming out in your PJ bottoms" when he saw them............ It didn't go down well Grin

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 16/07/2018 10:41

I love my big bum (fat arse) and work on making it bigger every day

Who wants a skinny/flat/no arse?

Confused

Its great that you love your shape, but following it with a comment that immediately puts down the natural body shape of millions of other people isn't quite so great.

You criticise the OP for projecting her body negativity onto others and and then swiftly follow up with a sweeping body negative comment aimed at people with a different body shape to yours.

I wouldn't never post in this style, but to paraphrase your comment:

Sucks to be you if you like your own shape so much you have to project your dislike of flat arses on others !! Grin

kaytee87 · 16/07/2018 10:41

I like them because they make my bum look bigger. I have huge boobs and no hips to speak of so they balance me out and they're very comfortable.
