Supermarket Car Parks

AIBU to think it is incredibly selfish of people to take extra time to reverse their car into a parking space in a car park when it would take a fraction of the time to drive in front first. Usually there is a queue of traffic behind them waiting for them to slowly reverse in!!!! They couldn’t car less about wasting other people’s time. They live in their own SELFISH bubble.

This thread has me crying. Sycronised swimming FFS! 😂😂

Seriously though, I wish the biggest problem in my life was getting upset about having to wait a few moments for someone to reverse in a supermarket car park.

OP can I suggest you perhaps spend some time focusing on relaxing your mind. Yoga or meditation might help. Smile

I also find most people who drive in never park straight making it difficult for those who park properly (reverse in straight line) to get in and out of the car

starzig · 15/07/2018 16:16

I find reversing in easier. That being said I take longer to front park at the supermarket to make my boot accessible

starzig · 15/07/2018 16:18

It's the ones that wait for a space cause it's nearer the door with plenty further away available that bug me.

possumgoddess · 15/07/2018 18:28

I reverse park. I am bloody BRILLIANT at reverse parking. And pretty damn good at parallel parking. But crap at forward parking. That's why I do it. And I like being able to drive straight out while being able to see easily where I am going, particularly in a busy car park where there are impatient idiots not looking to see if anyone has already started to drive out of their parking space when they decide to speed past it. So reverse parking all the way for me.

😂😂😂😂

Daddynosharing · 15/07/2018 19:59

Yabu, it's so much easier to get into a parking space properly and safely by reversing.

CynsterBitch · 15/07/2018 20:03

I did not realize reversing in annoyed people, will have to do it more often now

Bibesia · 16/07/2018 09:07

It really isn't easier to reverse into a parking space, as demonstrated by the people who take several attempts. As for safer - it's simply a matter of taking proper precautions before reversing out. I've done it for over 30 years without any accidents, so it's clearly not the hotbed of risk some people depict it as. And I always park straight.

AJPTaylor · 16/07/2018 09:11

i felt the same tbh. however where i work the car park has a reverse in rule ( so i have had to practice). honestly i am a convert. so much safer and easier to get out. esp if like me you have a smallish car which all ways attracts 4 x4 and transit vans to park next to.

HellenaHandbasket · 16/07/2018 09:53

Shock horror, different people find different things easier 😱

wrenika · 16/07/2018 10:33

I'd like to assume this is a troll. Everyone who drives a car should know how to safely manoeuvre and it is safer to reverse into the parking space and drive out. If you have to reverse out, you have limited visibility, there are people with trolleys, kids, other cars...

It doesn't take much longer to reverse park than drive into a spot anyway, so have a little patience, and learn how to drive safely.
