Parking situation on my new road.

I have just completed on a new house. When I viewed it I spent time on different days popping by the road at different times of day to checkout the parking situation and all was fine. My house and the one opposite have a drive for 1 car odd road and the others have space for 2. I only have one car.

The house opposite was for sale at the same time and the new occupants have just moved in a couple of weeks after me.
They have 6 cars!!!! (Green)

I have tried my best on the diagram to illustrate where everyone tends to park - each house has a coloured for above and then their cars are the same colour lines.
I only have one car so my driveway is ample however with green house wankers parking their cars all over the place - mainly at the end of the cul de sac - it's really hard to get out of my drive with cars also parked on the road in between my house (red) and my nice NDN (blue)

I've popped round and introduced myself and explained asking them politely not to park the three cars at the the end of the cul de sac (which is a dropped kerb. But they closed the door in my face and I haven't seen them since. Tonight they've got all of their cars all over the road as per the diagram.

What's my best course of action here?

I could squeeze on with help but have to leave at 5am tomorrow

Shame, I think knocking them up at 4.45 to get them move a car or two would have been quite in order, and would have the added benefit of getting the entire street on your side (if they aren't already).

LakieLady · 18/07/2018 10:35

Oh Jenna, I feel quite guilty for finding your saga entertaining now.

I totally get how frustrating and upsetting this all is. They sound a bit intimidating, too, which must be nasty for you.

Hope the other neighbours get pissed off with them too, and give them a hard time. And I really hope that NNDN's letting agents get that she is doing absolutely nothing wrong.

GabsAlot · 18/07/2018 11:04

actual twats and the council sound useless

i would also try psco you cant double park and leave your car anywhere
afaik

GabsAlot · 18/07/2018 11:05

agatha everything is north if you live on the south coast

Tiredtomybones · 18/07/2018 11:09

Have you definitely checked he definitely doesn't own the end of the cul de sac? As I posted earlier, my house is at the end of a lane and what looks like a turning circle/overflow parking is actually my land and my parking space. I'd be mightily pissed off to see a thread like this about me when it's actually mine and it's my right to assert that to people who park in it or block it.

curious86 · 18/07/2018 11:12

I've realised a few people saying to not park on your own drive, the whole point of buying a house with a drive is to use it. The family are being so out of order.
Isnt there a thing where your not allowed to park on a dropped curb if so could you not report them

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 18/07/2018 11:16

Has anyone asked the estate agent who sold house to CFN what the situation is re end of the road?
Did they assume that anyone could park there but said (to close the deal) that no one parks there so CFN could consider it 'his'?
Or agent actually saw paperwork proving that the spaces belong to the CFN?
Or he just made it up?

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 18/07/2018 11:17

OP is currently in the Northern wilds of Birmingham so hopefully nice NDN will update

JennaTools · 18/07/2018 11:23

Quick update - police community officer is attending today apparently for a chat with those involved!

Excellent!
Hopefully when asked to prove "ownership" of the road, CFN will have nothing

SubtitlesOn · 18/07/2018 11:33

That is good news about PCSO Smile

PestoSurfissimos · 18/07/2018 11:38

Yay!!!

Jaxhog · 18/07/2018 11:40

Good luck with the PCO. (Don't assume they will know the law though - ours don't)

I was going to suggest that you call them, because parking cars 2 deep across a road is an obstruction.

It's extremely unlikely that they would have designated parking spaces as they suggest. It also doesn't matter what the EA told them. Unless it's specified in their deeds, it doesn't exist. If it's an adopted road, only the council (county?) would be able to designate on-road spaces, which would then be marked out.

Good luck!

RestingBitchFaced · 18/07/2018 11:58

Blatant placemark

OliviaBenson · 18/07/2018 12:10

Great news op!!! Let's hope they see sense after the visit!

GabsAlot · 18/07/2018 12:17

Been reading this post since the start. I used to live near you was brought up in the BH15 area, oakdale. Personally I think what you are doing is great. Some people can be so ignorant. X

piefacedClique · 18/07/2018 13:14

Can you get a copy of their deeds before the meeting with the PCSO? Might help to iron out the issue

MsJolly · 18/07/2018 13:29

Brilliant!

WalkingTed · 18/07/2018 13:46
