Parking situation on my new road.

JennaTools · 14/07/2018 22:43

I have just completed on a new house. When I viewed it I spent time on different days popping by the road at different times of day to checkout the parking situation and all was fine. My house and the one opposite have a drive for 1 car odd road and the others have space for 2. I only have one car.

The house opposite was for sale at the same time and the new occupants have just moved in a couple of weeks after me.
They have 6 cars!!!! (Green)

I have tried my best on the diagram to illustrate where everyone tends to park - each house has a coloured for above and then their cars are the same colour lines.
I only have one car so my driveway is ample however with green house wankers parking their cars all over the place - mainly at the end of the cul de sac - it's really hard to get out of my drive with cars also parked on the road in between my house (red) and my nice NDN (blue)

I've popped round and introduced myself and explained asking them politely not to park the three cars at the the end of the cul de sac (which is a dropped kerb. But they closed the door in my face and I haven't seen them since. Tonight they've got all of their cars all over the road as per the diagram.

What's my best course of action here?

Parking situation on my new road.

CFN really does believe those are all his spaces!

HouseOfGoldandBones · 17/07/2018 23:29

Can't believe the CFery of them.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 17/07/2018 23:30

Yep. They genuinely believe that because they have more vehicles than they can accommodate they are entitled to claim that road space as theirs, because they need it Hmm. They remind me of the people who think their bag needs a seat on the bus.

JessieMcJessie · 17/07/2018 23:35

Nettlethief that was the NDN’s letting agent, not the Council.

DunkandEggAgain · 17/07/2018 23:38

Double parking isn't allowed. Keep on at the council and become a nuisance to them.. you bombard them with daily photographic updates, videos, everything/ anything..just document it all down and get your nice neighbours on it as well. Make plenty of noise and yes, things will get done in your favour, the council and/ or the community officers will step in.
Talking from experience here.

FeralBeryl · 17/07/2018 23:41

Oh @JennaTools Shock I think a discussion with one of your local PCSOs may be useful here. You have to live opposite these pricks and I know you just want it resolving without any more drama but they seem incapable.
101/ PCSO will have encountered similar although not to this extent and may have some good advice, or even a knock on their door from them may help. Thanks

redshoeblueshoe · 17/07/2018 23:41

Not placemarking at all

AvoidingDM · 17/07/2018 23:45

I'd phone the police. Surely parking in the middle of the road is an obstruction.

NNDN maybe wants to complain to LL / EA about the number of cars and lack of space on the street.

BoomBoomsCousin · 17/07/2018 23:47

Definitely keep on at the council and see if there is a local PCSO who will come out and try to resolve. Even if the council won't or can't enforce parking rules, if the neighbours keep this up it will surely become ASBO territory, won't it?

iheartmichellemallon · 18/07/2018 00:00

Goodness Op - they're a complete nightmare. Sorry you're having to go through this. Hope you get to a peaceful resolution for you.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 18/07/2018 00:15

PCSO sounds like a good way to proceed

Firstdateschannel4q24s · 18/07/2018 01:13

Placemarking eek

Mummyoflittledragon · 18/07/2018 05:23

I also think contacting a PCSO could be the way forward. They try to help keep the peace and will talk to the neighbours. I don’t think they will enforce anything legally through the police.

Norma27 · 18/07/2018 05:25

I would speak to the pcso too. I recently emailed mine about the illegal parking taking place daily on our road with a school on it. I received an email saying unfortunately they had limited resources and couldn’t do anything.
The following week they turned up and ticketed loads of cars. They only have to take photos and then can go back to the station and issue penalties.
They turned up twice more a couple of weeks later.
These cheeky fuckers need to be taught a lesson. Good luck.
Enjoy your time in sunny Birmingham which is where I am!

Gobbolino7825 · 18/07/2018 05:25

@JennaTools I need to know where this is - I’m in the same postcode!!! 😁

I have had some luck with 101 in our area for people who occasionally block our driveway...

Norma27 · 18/07/2018 05:26

Definitely get onto your MP too. They should help.

Nofilter · 18/07/2018 05:29

.

Cakemadeoffruit · 18/07/2018 05:46

Looking at the photo your Mom took, in starting to wonder if you have a car for harassment. I'm not normally one for contacting the police but think it's time you log each incident with 101. As for the council, think you need to contact the twat who told you to park on your drive with your portfolio of photos of their inconsiderate driving

Mummyoflittledragon · 18/07/2018 06:30

Gobbolino
Are you saying op is living in the same are as you? In that case, can you park in the neighbours “allocated spaces”? Wink

MaggieFS · 18/07/2018 06:30

This is unreal. If I was your neighbour I'd be sending the photos back to the letting agent showing what you're having to deal with and explain she's trying to get this resolved and if they ever want to rent the house again given the hideous people I've the road, they should be glad she's willing to step up!
As for the reply from the council, I'd be sending a reply to them cc local paper and ask them to explain exactly how it doesn't block a dropped curb.
And also be onto the police for harassment.
Bonkers.

Gobbolino7825 · 18/07/2018 06:36

@Mummyoflittledragon yes I do have a car I could possibly park and leave for a couple of days!!

NicoAndTheNiners · 18/07/2018 06:52

Sorry are the idiots renting or have bought the house? I've forgotten. Hope for your sake they rent and go soon.

Devilishpyjamas · 18/07/2018 06:54

I always called Birmingham up north until I was in my twenties Grin

Definitely log with 101 & send photos to the council daily
