Just used a packet of microwave rice and when I opened it I found this inside. What could it be?
I've messed about with it a bit, was one big lump when I took it out.

Sorry to scaremonger but I'm sure is see a bit of spine and rib cage in there.

Pickleypickles · 14/07/2018 17:49

Not sure I see spines or ribs Hmm. I would advise not eating it though. Take pictures and send them to the manufacturer and seal the bag with the smeg back in it and freeze it in case they want it for testing or something.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 14/07/2018 17:50

Spine and ribcage? Confused

Timeisslippingaway · 14/07/2018 17:51

Don't worry my first thought was a small frog because I'm sure I can see things that look a bit like intestine and possibly eyes🤢. I'm thinking maybe a small frog but just can't think what the black stuff is.

OP posts:
Socksey · 14/07/2018 17:53

Did you leave it in too long?
Looks like over cooked/cremated stuff out of a microwave

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 14/07/2018 17:53

The black bits would be microwaved frog. Or mould. Either way it is hideous and you've just put me off going and nibbling things in the kitchen so I owe you one!

funinthesun18 · 14/07/2018 17:54

Could it be mould?

Timeisslippingaway · 14/07/2018 18:00

Just in for the normal time so not burnt and defo not mould because it was quite difficult to separate.
Did some Google research and I'm pretty sure it's a frog, don't really want to post the pic of my findings, it's pretty grusome! Might put you off dinner.

Aeroflotgirl · 14/07/2018 18:02

Don't eat it, not sure what it is though

Worieddd · 14/07/2018 18:07

Frog? Spine and ribs? Looks a bit mushroomy to me

Timeisslippingaway · 14/07/2018 18:13

Sorry I didn't mean a full grown frog but a tadpoles maybe. Can definitely see stuff that looks like intestine. And pretty sure the bit at the top is eyes. Maybe I'm just freaking myself out.

sakuramiyagi · 14/07/2018 18:13

It looks mushroom-like to me too. Struggling to see any frogishness. Definitely wouldn't be eating that or buying the brand again.

WigglyBlossom · 14/07/2018 18:14

What brand is it? Please don't say Tilda...........

SimonBridges · 14/07/2018 18:15

Do you still have the packet?
Take many more pictures and contact the company.

DaanSaaf · 14/07/2018 18:16

Looks like mushroom

WittyJack · 14/07/2018 18:19

Looks like mould/mushroom to me too.

Also looks bloody grim. Sorry OP :(

tenterden · 14/07/2018 18:21

I think we need to know which brand it is before commenting....

Souledout · 14/07/2018 18:23

What flavour rice?

Plain white?

longtimelurkingtrans · 14/07/2018 18:23

Don't eat it. It looks like it's been contaminated either by animal of insects. not got my glasses on and had a wee bit too much wine when boyfriend took me out for luncjh to see it properly xx

Mary1935 · 14/07/2018 18:33

I think you can contact trading standards and they will be able to test it for you. YUK

TiredohsoTired · 14/07/2018 18:34

That happened to me a while ago, looked almost exactly the same. Turned out there had been a small hole in the packet and it had started to go mouldy inside. Only realised it after I'd taken a bite Shock.

smallshoe · 14/07/2018 18:40

Was it Tilda rice? I found something similar in a packet of their microwaveable rice last year

Timeisslippingaway · 14/07/2018 18:57

It was Sainsbury's own, long grain, white rice. Maybe that's what I get for cheating out haha. I'll take some more pics and give them a phone. Definitely didn't eat it 🤮.

Melstarrynight · 14/07/2018 19:22

Looks a bit lie a large black maggot that's even pulled to pieces. Sorry🤢

Dakiara · 14/07/2018 19:54

You'll probably get an apology and a tenner at most if you phone, in nectar points.

I'd email them with pictures and a full complaint or freeze and send to the local environmental health incase they need to up their standards.

Mine was just rat droppings flattened into their fresh vegetables though, rather than a whole frog or mouse. My sympathies for that gross one. 🤢
