LipstickHandbagCoffee · 14/07/2018 00:23

See here the thing,if queen were an elderly woman, regular had worked woman,I’d see what you scrabbling to say
But thing is,you’re comparing a rich life of entitlement to that of older adult.
Two are in no way comparable

riviana · 14/07/2018 06:14

@keyboardkate I know it is a mark of respect for the Monarch, but I don't think I have seen this carry on happening in any other Royal Family around Europe. Maybe I just missed it.

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark curtsies to Queen Maxima
www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2998668/Princess-Mary-Denmark-resplendent-camel-wears-respectful-hat-observing-protocol-greets-King-Queen-Netherlands.html

Main reason it stuck in my mind is how nimble CP Mary must be to effortlessly curtsey - even if not very low - in those heels. I also like the way that she and her husband feel free to hold hands.

Gromance02 · 14/07/2018 06:47

Good for him. I couldn't sleep at night if I were her. All that money, land and property in a country with over a million people relying on food banks. Vile.

famousfour · 14/07/2018 06:53

I'm no fan of DT but how did he keep the queen waiting. Was he late? Or did he faff about doing something else while she waited?

I wouldn't bow or curtesy to anyone so not surprised he doesn't - perhaps it's not even the protocol. I would extend the usual courtesies of course. Doesn't surprise me if royalty do to each other as they all subscribe to the same system so have a vested interest in upholding it.

StealthPolarBear · 14/07/2018 07:23

"With what is coming out with information about his links with russia spies during the 2016 election , he will be locked up, indefinitely.".
Based on what's happened so far hell shout FAKE NEWS and get away with it. Nothing touches him

StealthPolarBear · 14/07/2018 07:27

Oh and lipstick I know you never ever ever admit to being even the tiniest bit wrong but that was very clear. You used the same phrase "going strong" as the previous poster from three minutes ago, no one else has done recently, you were replying. Just admit it maybe.

Go on, rip me to shreds. I know you will and I will go back to trying to ignore.

Laiste · 14/07/2018 08:25

lipstick you're just being a dick to everyone and you're coming across on this thread as being a bit thick. Sadly it means your opinions just look like dogmatic ravings.

StealthPolarBear · 14/07/2018 08:31

I hate that this guy has the same initials as my dh

LoniceraJaponica · 14/07/2018 08:38

"lipstick you're just being a dick to everyone and you're coming across on this thread as being a bit thick. Sadly it means your opinions just look like dogmatic ravings"

LipstickHandbagCoffee you come across as a very bitter, twisted and jealous person. I get that you don't approve of the royal family as an institution, and you are very fortunate to live in a country where you are freely allowed to express these views.

However, your vitriolic ravings don't do you any favours and come across as sour grapes. Are you jealous of everyone who has a better life than you? Can I suggest that you go out and do something to improve your lot and those around you instead of bleating negatively about someone, who by accident of birth, has a more privileged life than you.

dementedma · 14/07/2018 08:52

Just a point on a "pampered" lifestyle being the reason for HM's longevity. it may well be a factor. but last week I had the honour of spending time with Veteran in the rudest of good health, no walking stick and absolutely had all his marbles. he landed as a 20 year old on the Normandy beaches and served for decades all over the world. He worked before, and after, his army career. he is 99 so a long life and good health is not necessarily due to having people look after you all your life.

pfttt · 14/07/2018 09:04

I am not especially a monarchist but I think yesterday I was converted. The Queen does an amazing job - she's still working a full-time job and she's 92, FFS!

Watching the tasteless, crass, rude, stupid US Head of State (elected) made me realise how lucky we are with her Maj, who has been a full-time working royal since she was a teen, and remained courteous, diplomatic, hard-working (no bloody golf ever weekend for her). Worth every penny she costs.

I was SO ANGRY at how the Orange Twat disrespected her, made her wait in the heat and then marched off in front of her, rather than waiting for her, at her age (ignoring that she's the Queen, it would be appalling rudeness if his host was a retired cleaner - you don't march off leading the way in front of your host when you are a guest!).

The man has no manners - he was clearly brought up in the sewer.

I feel so sorry for the Queen having to grit her teeth and be polite to this oaf.

And of curse as well as disrespecting her, Trump was quite deliberately disrespecting every one of us and our country.

FFS to the twats who voted for Brexit to get more "sovereignty". As though kowtowing to the Orange Twat = sovereignty!!! No EU leader would dream of being so rude or disrespectful to our country and our Head of State.

pfttt · 14/07/2018 09:06

And off topic but I am really fed up with the number of really obvious foreign, paid trolls on MN these days.

Don't think we can't see you and you aren't totally, totally obvious.

It's like claig has had a thousand babies. Hmm

pfttt · 14/07/2018 09:08

LoniceraJaponica - "you are very fortunate to live in a country where you are freely allowed to express these views."

Er...I suspect that the whole point may well be that the poster you referred to does not have the luxury of living in a country where s/he is freely allowed to express their views? And indeed is being paid for them?

LoniceraJaponica · 14/07/2018 09:10

That never occurred to me pfttt. That will teach me to make assumptions Grin. However, this is a forum where someone can freely make these views.

StealthPolarBear · 14/07/2018 09:15

Lipstick is not a troll.

UneMoonit · 14/07/2018 09:17

We have a head of state who has class, dignity and who you know can handle almost anyone in a professional manner.

Yesterday we could have complete confidence that even with Donald Trump, she would find what he is interested in, not respond to anything dodgy and turn the thing into a positive experience for everyone's good.

Those of you who disrespect ER and her family deserve a head of state like Donald Trump. He did the same, is is actually the king of people like you. Grin

harshbuttrue1980 · 14/07/2018 09:21

I don't like Trump, BUT in my view a democratically elected head of state outranks a head of state who has never stood for election. Bowing and curtseying are ridiculous and archaic - the Obamas didn't bow and curtsey either.

The queen is a human being - she eats, sleeps and poos like the rest of us. Its not a big deal that one human being refuses to bow and scrape to another human being or - clutches pearls! - for one human being to walk in front of another human being. I don't think it was right to keep her waiting, but that is due to her age not her hereditary status. I wouldn't keep my grandma standing up waiting either.

UneMoonit · 14/07/2018 09:31

All the royal family are racist, some manage to cover it up well. The queen mother was extremely racist, she never tried to hide it.

So Her Majesty, Prince William and Princess Kate, the whole lot of them?

I suppose you'd be absolutely fine with it if someone you didn't know was going around telling people you were racist then? That'd be an alright thing to do?

dementedma · 14/07/2018 09:43

"All the Royal family are racist"

Know them personally, do you?

LeighaJ · 14/07/2018 09:44

The US state department advises against presidents bowing to royals even if it is a common tradition of the country they're visiting.

It's also considered to be a sign of weakness by many in the US which is why Obama was so heavily criticised for bowing to...everyone...even robots.

StealthPolarBear · 14/07/2018 09:49

Obama bowed to a robot? I watered a plastic plant once at work, I feel for him :o

pfttt · 14/07/2018 10:25

Obama and Michelle had class. Unlike President tiny Hands, Obama had no need to worry that he would look worse if he bowed to an elderly lady, Head of State of one of America's oldest allies.

On the contrary, he could see that treating her with respect made him look like a well-mannered, confident leader.

President Fart Trump by contrast comes across like the classic bully - the child who tries to put others down to make themselves feel big in order to cover up their screamingly obvious self-hatred and lack of confidence.

pfttt · 14/07/2018 10:27

"All the Royal family are racist"

Oh do fuck off - Harry has recently married Meghan, and the Royal Family could not have been more gracious at welcoming her and her mother into the clan.

Bet that sticks in Trump's racist craw.

pfttt · 14/07/2018 10:30

StealthPolarBear - yes she is.

But very far from the only one. Look at the riot thread - playing spot the real poster is increasingly hard.
