Poss *trigger* To think this is disgusting and encourages pedophilia

I came across this on the wish shopping app recently. I know pictures don't always work so quick description : they are male masturbation sex toys similar to fleshlight (brand name) they are designed to look and feel like vaginas. This is pretty gross for me personally but not disgusting I appreciate some people think they are fine. What I do think is disgusting is that the products are clearly labeled with the ages of the vagina they mimic and the youngest is 14. Below the age of consent. Am I over reacting here or is this basically allowing men to mimic sex with a 14 year old so therefore pretty problematic? I added a trigger warning as I'd rather be safe than cause any distress. Hope it is appropriate use.

Sorry I was wrong - in Spain it is 16. I think it used to be younger. Quite a few countries in Europe seem to have it set at 14, eg Italy and Germany.

GorgonLondon · 12/07/2018 10:11

Are you male or female, Firesuit?

Bibesia · 12/07/2018 10:13

They clearly haven't worked out that a 22 year old who has given birth will be somewhat different from one that hasn't.

MissionItsPossible · 12/07/2018 10:14

Fucking hell, that’s disgusting

smellmybacon · 12/07/2018 10:16

i've just searched it and this is the sizing information 🤢

Age of consent in other countries. Any guesses as to gender of who made those laws?

reeldoop · 12/07/2018 10:17

More misogynist than paedo to my mind. Why not just label them size 1 for XXS (to protect the poor men from having to acknowledge their skinny penis), size 2, size 3 etc. Instead of equating them with utterly ludicrous and nonsensical ages. Vaginas are elastic and they change very little, even after childbirth in many cases. And has anyone ever seen a study measuring women's vaginal girth between the ages of 14 and 22 that rhey could have used to inform these sizings? No, because no-one has done one. I doubt there's much variation.

AveAtqueVale · 12/07/2018 10:23

Oyster I think those are for dogs. The hole is for the tail. Possibly for when they're in season but possibly just because people like dressing up dogs Hmm.

Wish does have some very weird stuff though.

Whatstobedone · 12/07/2018 10:26

The socket needs to fit the cock

Then market it by cock size.

This 100%!

Isn't that a more appropriate solution? You know teeny, tiny, small, medium etc @Firesuit?

The putting an age for sizing is bizarre and vile.

Laiste · 12/07/2018 10:31

Sister school??!?!
What does it even mean?
Lord.

NewYearNewMe18 · 12/07/2018 10:37

As has been said it's a Chinese site, their translations are somewhat hazy at the best of times. So trying to apply western standards and ethics is pretty much pointless.

SummerGems · 12/07/2018 10:42

Except that other countries do have lower ages of consent than the uK. Conversely I imagine there are countries with a higher age of consent than that in the UK.

If you shop on dodgy websites you’re going to be pointed to dodgy products.

AngelsSins · 12/07/2018 10:58

Eugh, men never fail to find new ways to repulse me.

QuimReaper · 12/07/2018 10:58

Why is 20 "Cougar"?!

I think they're just applying words from porn tags without checking the translation! "Sister school"?!

AngelsSins · 12/07/2018 10:59

And that makes it ok? Would you buy a dildo that was advertised as being modelled on a 14 year old boys penis?

Jimmers · 12/07/2018 11:06

THIS!

Yes exactly great point!

The socket needs to fit the cock

Then market it by cock size

Yep!

It's disgusting yes. But the point of that being the age of consent in the country of origin is valid.

I 100% disagree that this encourages paedophila though. A paedophile is a paedophile. They don't become so because of a masturbation aid.

Whatstobedone · 12/07/2018 12:13

@gekiort I agree with the paedophilic bit, it doesn't encourage that. But I think it's just bike whatever the age of consent. A male masturbation aid should be relative to the mans size not be related to a female size.

Whatstobedone · 12/07/2018 12:14

Just bike!?!? = Vile!! Damn autocorrect!

Bearfam · 12/07/2018 12:42

Perhaps encourages is the wrong word. I feel that is sexualises children. Making it acceptable that children are sexually desirable.

FromAtoBin21months · 12/07/2018 12:46

That's fucking grim and frankly disturbing

gekiort · 12/07/2018 12:46

whats I don't disagree with you at all.

glintandglide · 12/07/2018 12:48

It’s a foreign website and there are lots of cultural problems around rape and sexual abuse in that part of the world.

I’m not sure it encourages paedophilia in a non paedophile though, and tbh 14 is too old for a paedophile anyway.

Hidingtonothing · 12/07/2018 12:54

I don't think it 'encourages' but I do think stuff like this normalises paedophilia to some extent. I think products are beginning to be marketed specifically towards paedophiles and find that really worrying. I hear it said a lot that there are the same number of paedophiles there has always been and maybe that's true but there's no denying that the Internet/SM has made their lives easier. I just worry the more we see stuff like this the more 'normal' it becomes and that's a slippery slope.
