To say 'get over here if you want England to win'

Ardent supporters, luke warm well wishers (I'm looking at you Scotland and Wales), waistcoat appreciators, Spurs, Arsenal, northern football fans, League 2 strugglers, those whose only interest is the office sweepstake, those playing 'It's coming home' on trumpets at 1am (I still haven't forgiven you for the vuvuzelas), those quietly sipping Chateauneuf du Pape with friends and family, Brexiters, Remainers and basically, anyone and everyone in between who isn't going to use the football as an excuse to jump up and down on emergency response vehicles or piss on a foreigner. Get over here now and leave the naysayers and misery gutses to it.

Come on England!!!

Sad Was fabulous while it lasted, we did brilliant, well done lads!
YoYotheclown · 11/07/2018 21:40

Very sad. But they did really well.

Floradoranora · 11/07/2018 21:40

And our team have behaved brilliantly on and off the pitch. No scandals, no primadonnas, no addictions, no affairs or sexual misconduct or violence

You make a really good point. I only got on board when I realised Wayne Rooney was long since gone from the team and things were looking different.

Doilooklikeatourist · 11/07/2018 21:40

Loves Gareth Southgate ❤️ 🦁🦁🦁

Clandestino · 11/07/2018 21:40

And the countdown for beaten people, destroyed ambulances etc. starts ....... NOW.
It's funny how the behaviour of the fans was reflected on the pitch in the last minutes of the game when England were losing. The aggression of the overentitled "we are the English, bring back the Empire" footballers was rather disgusting. How dare the Croats defeat them ....

bluesandtwo · 11/07/2018 21:41

Hubris.

Raspberry88 · 11/07/2018 21:41

What a team. And so young so I'm sure they can get better and better. Pickford needs a medal!

MynameisJune · 11/07/2018 21:41

Ah that didn’t take long for the haters to arrive 🙄

ChanandlerBongsNeighbour · 11/07/2018 21:42

Loving Gareth Southgate!

areyoubeingserviced · 11/07/2018 21:42

I am really proud of the England team
Well done to Croatia

MajesticWhine · 11/07/2018 21:42

Eh?

EleanorLavish · 11/07/2018 21:43

Clandestino what about the fans that crowd funded to repay the costs incurred when a small minority of idiots ran amok? Will you mention them?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 11/07/2018 21:43

Blimey Clandestino, who pissed in your wine?

Prestonsflowers · 11/07/2018 21:44

I’m Welsh and I’m disappointed that England lost.
The ream had a great tournament and most of them are young so 4 years time they could go further

OftenHangry · 11/07/2018 21:44

Still amazin. 28 years it took!

RoseWhiteTips · 11/07/2018 21:45

What a dream for Croatia: a meeting with France at the highest level in the sport.

NLBM · 11/07/2018 21:45

Am gutted. Reckon they'll definitely win it in four years though! What about the Euros, is that two years?

wowfudge · 11/07/2018 21:46

Sad, but not devastated - more to come I think. Great to see The Waistcoat thank every one of them and get them on their feet to thank the fans.

Trampire · 11/07/2018 21:46

I'm disappointed but still proud of how far they came.

I'm a bit relieved I don't have to sit through penalties 😂.

I hope France win.

katzensocken · 11/07/2018 21:46

No aggression from the England side at all in this game, or any other game for that matter this year! We were cool-headed and dignified despite Croatia's shocking behaviour. So many fouls gone ignored. Such a shame. I'll be rooting for France.

PS if you think the English fans are bad, educate yourself about the racist/fascist Croatian fans who have been making their beliefs known recently.

(I don't normally watch football but I think the England team has been a credit to us this time around).

Floradoranora · 11/07/2018 21:47

It was lovely to see Gareth Southgate getting them off the ground and on their feet.

IpanemaChica · 11/07/2018 21:48

So proud of this young team and how they gave the country hope 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿👍

burblish · 11/07/2018 21:48

So proud of the England players and in awe of Southgate - he is class through and through. Wish I could give them all a massive group hug. SadSadSad
