Or is that very non-U?

Freeze some grapes and put them in instead. Won’t dilute the wine.

femidom12 · 10/07/2018 14:13

Looks like you've had a few already! - YANBU

LanguidLobster · 10/07/2018 14:13

Lord no, go right ahead

LaurieMarlow · 10/07/2018 14:14

Who gives a fuck if it's non-u, do it if it makes you happy.

FittonTower · 10/07/2018 14:15

Do it. Happens where my family are from in Spain, they also chill red wine. Who wants to drink warm wine?
(However, i don't know what non-u means so it could be that i suppose)

PinkHeart5914 · 10/07/2018 14:15

Trouble is with ice cubes you got to drink the wine quick or it waters it down and doesn’t taste the same imo.

Freeze grapes and use them as ice cubes, much better

endofthelinefinally · 10/07/2018 14:17

I freeze grapes for wine and slices of lemon for gin. Much nicer than diluting your drink.

Frogletmamma · 10/07/2018 14:18

Didn't think to freeze grapes. Putting some in the freezer now!

I always put Ice in my Pinot Grigio even in the winter Blush

ClandestineAdulation · 10/07/2018 14:20

Cblue · 10/07/2018 14:21

Yep always put ice in Pinot during the summer.
I also sometimes chill red wine (my Spanish family do this and I realised that it's really nice)
I never do this in winter though, and would never do it with an expensive glass of Chablis, but a bottle of plonk absolutely!!!!

ClandestineAdulation · 10/07/2018 14:21

Not sure why it double posted! But it’s my top tip Smile

arranfan · 10/07/2018 14:23

We use whisky cubes (food grade frozen stainless steel cubes) when we want to chill something in a glass but not dilute it. There are cheaper sources of these: Stainless Steel Whiskey Stones/Cubes

ToothTrauma · 10/07/2018 14:25

I put ice in. I don’t see that it’s different to having a spritzer, just without bubbles!

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 10/07/2018 16:23

It will water the drink down. Try placing the glass in the fridge before hand.

BogstandardBelle · 10/07/2018 16:40

I’m in France, friends here will readily add an ice cube to rosé wine in the summer.

Emma198 · 10/07/2018 16:42

I'd have it with a load of ice and soda water in a tall glass Grin

DontCallMeCharlotte · 10/07/2018 17:00

Friends of ours never have enough fridge room and his beer takes precedence which means we all have to drink tepid white wine with ice cubes. Bleugh.

I am definitely stealing the frozen grapes idea.

Bluebell878275 · 10/07/2018 17:09

Same as Emma198 I love it in a tall glass with ice and soda. It's refreshing but still gets you pissed slowly.

TheFaerieQueene · 10/07/2018 17:13

Make ice cubes from the wine and add a couple to your glass of wine, i) your glasnof wine doesn’t get diluted with water and ii) you get extra wine to drink as they melt.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 10/07/2018 17:17

Another ice and soda-er here! In fact am just considering a mosey down to the shop to procure some plonk to give exactly this treatment to.

Undiluted wine in this weather would have me asleep after the first mouthful!

happymummy12345 · 10/07/2018 17:17

I never put ice in any drink at all. Reusable ice cubes are way better

BishopBrennansArse · 10/07/2018 17:19

As long as you drink it before the ice melts too much, don't want to dilute it!

Emma198 · 10/07/2018 17:23

I'm 5 months pregnant so living vicariously through you all!
