And to wonder if that is not a look best avoided?

I thought Kate looked scrawny. Loved Lizzy Pelly, Meghan and Carol's outfits.

I don't see why Kate wears cream to all the christenings. Such a boring colour.

Lotsofdigestives · 10/07/2018 07:12

I was thinking how old Kate looked in those photos. The make up is very harsh and those outfits quite unforgiving.
I really like what that Lizzie person is wearing.

ProperLavs · 10/07/2018 07:13

Kate is scrawny.
I also don't get all this 'so in love with her baby' crap.
of course she is, it's her bloody baby and she has oodles of money and time on her hands. Why wouldn't she look happy?

summertimehere · 10/07/2018 07:20

I thought she looked fantastic and what a beautiful healthy looking family always something special about christenings

MarshaBradyo · 10/07/2018 07:35

Just realised you meant Kate ;

I don’t love it, cream is starting to look a bit harsh for her

Undercoverbanana · 10/07/2018 07:45

Kate is scrawny????? Ffs - we are so used to everyone having stones of flab hanging off them that we’ve lost sight of normal!!!!

Kate is slim. That’s all.

I don’t think she looks old at all. I think she looks very well. She has “people” to do her hair and can afford whatever clothes she wants. I’m no expert but she probably wears make-up too, which most of us can’t afford/give a shit about.

I couldn’t stand all that fuss. I think she is a very nice looking woman.

MorningsEleven · 10/07/2018 08:08

She looks like a frog

😂 She looks like my MIL! who also is a bit amphibious looking

LanguidLobster · 10/07/2018 08:15

@Undercoverbanana you're saying most people don't bother or can't afford makeup? I was quite curious about that. Maybe it should be a separate thread!

I practically always wear a little

Undercoverbanana · 10/07/2018 08:30

Languidlobster - (love the name, btw) - I am so oblivious to make-up/nails etc that perhaps I’m wrong.

Of course, no-one (even me) can avoid noticing those weird slug eyebrows that are going on at the moment. I want to pick those off.

TheNavigator · 10/07/2018 08:36

Gosh, the claws are out for a young woman daring to be slim. 'scrawny', 'aged badly'. Yup, you tell yourself that as you munch crisps sitting on your well-upholstered arse Grin

Confusssed · 10/07/2018 08:45

Seneca yes I agree it was probably to do with modesty. Jane Seymour adopted the gable hood again as a mark of her modesty I think, and to abjure all things French as that was associated with Anne Boleyn.

RunMummyRun68 · 10/07/2018 09:30

navigatorGrinGrinGrin

And so very very true!

PortiaCastis · 10/07/2018 09:38

Grin navigator yes I think that's about right

zoobaby · 10/07/2018 09:42

The three christening dresses show progressively more chest/cleavage. She was buttoned right up for George's, then a bit lower for Charlotte. This dress is positively risqué. Wink

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 10/07/2018 10:41

Nothing wrong with a well upholstered arse - saves me the bother of getting a cushion Wink
Kate is boring in how she dresses. She always looks 'appropriate' but dull. If I had her money and access to stylists I would do a much better job, even with my well upholstered arse Smile

Polarbearflavour · 10/07/2018 11:03

If you think the comments here are bad, take a look at the Royal Gossip.de forums! Shock

For some reason, they hate Kate on there and there’s an entire thread discussing her fashion flaws. They also think all her babies were born via surrogate...some of the posts are downright cruel over there.

PineapplePower · 10/07/2018 11:07

Isn’t she 36 now? The bottom line is that extreme dieting (look at her college pics, she looked at a normal healthy weight then) and holidays in the Caribbean (without sunscreen from the looks of things) have aged her. I think she looks pretty normal for her set and wouldn’t look out of place in the richer parts of London actually.

TheNavigator · 10/07/2018 11:09

36 is a young woman to me Grin and she looks her age and slim, and healthy and happy - what is wrong with people?

NurseButtercup · 10/07/2018 11:24

I read somewhere that Harry and William and their mates are referred to as the "Aristo jet set".

I don't know why but this really makes me giggle.

But I agree the women are typically as slim as Kate.

LeighaJ · 10/07/2018 11:30

I'm glad I can attend my daughter's christening without strangers on the internet slagging off my choice of clothing. Smile

Battleax · 10/07/2018 11:34

No, not getting Tudor vibes at all. It reminds me of hats that older ladies wore to my church in the eighties, presumably that they’d bought in their youth in the 50s/60s. So a bit vintage but safe.

SlothSlothSloth · 10/07/2018 11:34

I often think this, but in reality she probably gets no say at all in what she wears - at least for official events. At best she perhaps gets to veto outfits presented to her.

It must be quite frustrating. Especially since the outfits she’s put in are often better suited to a much older woman.

Battleax · 10/07/2018 11:37

Someone pointed out the other day that both Meghan and Kate are older now than Diana ever got to be, which is startling.

Battleax · 10/07/2018 11:38

Of course she gets a say, she gets a free hand. And she chooses what she likes, as we all do.

How odd it must be to have so many people online saying they could make a better job of your life than you do.

SlothSlothSloth · 10/07/2018 11:43

Well Battleax if she’s really choosing all these matronly outfits for herself she has pretty weird taste for a young woman!

Online scrutiny is part and parcel of being a royal. She could have just got a job like everyone else.
