And to wonder if that is not a look best avoided?

viques. Me too. I thought sheesh, what's with the bustle. Then realised it was a churchy person.

They aren’t lower middle class. On their father’s side they are descended from yorkshire gentry.

Not that it matters one iota. Thank God.

coolncalm · 09/07/2018 20:53

Are you all perfect flawless stunning modelles
Why, is that a requirement to give an opinion? How bloody odd if everything they wore was loved by all. In case it passed you by the royal family tend to be talked about. Stop holding them in such high esteem, they aren't any better than you and I.

Butterymuffin · 09/07/2018 20:56

Love the headband and outfit! Meghan also looks lovely. Pippa should either wear proper flowing maternity gear or something nicely cut - these high necked low waisted things don't flatter her, and given that she's slim and good looking that is down to bad choices.

SenecaFalls · 09/07/2018 20:57

Anne Boleyn did make the French hood fashionable at the Court of Henry VIII, but she wore a gable hood to her execution, a little bit of fashion history that film and TV portrayals often get wrong.

PaduaPanda · 09/07/2018 21:09

The dress Pippa wore today was an almost exact copy of Wallis Simpson's wedding dress too.

mydogisthebest · 09/07/2018 21:17

I didn't like Kate's dress at all. Horrible neckline and sleeves.

Loved Meghan's outfit. She look stunning

Wow, I've never started a thread that went on 'trending' . I feel like the editor of the Express when he first put Lady Di on a front cover! I should have said that I think she looks lovely, but really I posted because I'm intrigued by her choice. Ignoring the aesthetics, she must know it makes her look a bit Tudor - so why do that on purpose? Maybe her family are politer than mine, but I'd have been called Anne all day if I wore such a headpiece (it's not really a hat, is it).

That's interesting Seneca. Do you think she wore a gable hood so that her face would be obscured?

Mousefunky · 09/07/2018 21:23

Pippa’s dress looks like my nan’s night dresses.

gillybeanz · 09/07/2018 21:24

I don't think they have any or much say in what they wear, not sure about Pippa, is she still considered as public property, or just kate.

I am allowed to have an opinion? Just checking. If this sartorial thread is too annoying for you then why are you reading it? Surely the title of the thread is clear enough.

Confusssed · 09/07/2018 21:29

Yes, fancy posters on a Style & Beauty thread having opinions on fashion! What next? Will we have to endure posters on the Education threads daring to voice an opinion on education [clutches pearls]

beanaseireann · 09/07/2018 21:29

Do you think the wrong memo got sent to Meghan re wearing / coordinating in blue ---- that she got sent one regarding what shade the Bishop/ Archbishop was wearing and to match up with his outfit.
Accidentally on purpose like. GrinGrinGrin

Only joking- she looked lovely as did Lizzie Pelly.

kierenthecommunity · 09/07/2018 21:29

Bit of a tangent but is Pippa still Middleton officially? Has she kept her own name?

Sittinonthefloor · 09/07/2018 21:33

Interesting differences of opinion on whether we should be 'allowed' to comment on KM's clothes. I think people comment because her visual image is all we have to judge her on - we don't know her opinions, she hasn't done anything noteworthy - other than willingly taking on the role of wife to the heir to the throne, most photographed woman and shaker of hands. What else can we say about her? Excellent walking skills? Fantastic flower holding? Great waving?

I think it’s a pity our young European royals dress so old. I’m not a royalist but I like to see a nice frock.
Pippa looks ancient, im sure that hideous dress didn’t help.

Jengnr · 09/07/2018 21:34

How come the queen and Phil the racist couldn’t be arsed to go?

halfwitpicker · 09/07/2018 21:34

Anyone got a pic of the lavverly lizzy pelly at all

HyacinthsBucket70 · 09/07/2018 21:37

She's Pippa Matthews but the DM will never adopt it Grin

SlothSlothSloth · 09/07/2018 21:37

I think Kate looks nice. Her outfit is not my style at all but it suits her very well.

Everyone (Will, Kate, Pippa, her husband) looks far older than their age though. I wonder if it’s because their fabulous wealth means they get more sun exposure than most... I imagine they spend a fair bit of time on sunny holidays...

Seasawride · 09/07/2018 21:39

Ah she looks lovely.

HyacinthsBucket70 · 09/07/2018 21:39

Lizzy Pelly did outdress them all, seeing her outfit.
