Got into a heated debate with someone at work this morning who isn’t from the UK and he was saying how revolting all the food is.

Some of my favourites:

Really good fish & chips
Scones with clotted cream & Jam
Sticky toffee pudding

We also have some of the best seafood

I too have had a colleague from Poland tell people at work he finds British food repulsive.

For me.

British Asparagus.
Scottish Strawberries
Cornish new potatoes.
Scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream.
Cod, chips and mushy peas
Haddock, mash, peas and parsley sauce
Full English minus the black pudding
Cottage pie
I'm not actually fussed on the roast dinner, although it's my dc favourite.
Ploughmans lunch
Scottish shortbread.
Really sharp, crumbly cheddar.

And the ultimate British comfort food for me and I always have it after I've been poorly etc is Egg, chips and beans with a ridiculous amount of salt and vinegar.

Cornish pasties
Manchester Tart
Bakewell tart
Pork pies

I like pastry!

Forgot hot cross buns and Christmas pudding.

TBF I'm not English and I'm not a massive fan of either traditional English food or my own country's! They're both wintery diets in my head.

Also depends who's been cooking for your colleague as I like British food a lot more since I've been cooking it myself properly as my ILs are rubbish cooks so it took a while to realise some things are quite nice.

One of my relatives in US used to live near a British store Grin. We went once and the owner gave us some spiel about how she'd love to make shepherd's pie but didn't have the right oven.
"That's bullshit, right?" said my relative when we left.
LMAO.
