Neighbors fucking windchimes

Our neighbors (not friendly, very stand offish & not for considering others but keep themselves to themselves) have a set of huge windchimes in one other the trees. Their garden backs on to the side of our house and the windchimes can be heard with any window open.

I know I abu, it's their garden to do with as they wish BUT the incessant tinkly clanging is driving me fucking bonkers!

Ugh agreed. We used to live in a flat and the French doors onto the balcony had no blinds/curtains. When I used to get up in the dead of night in winter to do night feeds, I'd look outside and it was really dark and still then the neighbors wind chimes would start. They're creepy!

We've moved into a house around 50 miles away now and our neighbour has a wind chime... with bells on

We have Woodstock chimes, they are rather nice and don't chime "incessantly" - it's not that windy in our back garden. It's a pleasant noise, certainly nicer than screaming young girls on a trampoline (which is all we can hear in the garden most days).

I'll swap your windchimes for next door's screeching bloody toddler, I guarantee you'd be praying for the windchimes back!! Just once I would like to sit in the garden with a beer after work and not have my eardrums pierced. No fucking chance .

Actually, thinking about it, maybe I'll get some really annoying windchimes!!!

My neighbours have two sets and they do my fucking head in. I often lie awake at night listening to them whilst imagining cutting the strings!

But do they only fuck each other?

i have some bamboo ones, I love them.

one neighbour has a barky dog who visits long term and another has skriking children, and another is very old and revs his car and mangles the gears.

I think my windchimes are the least of all the noise nuisances tbh :o

Wind chimes always make me think of horror movies. No idea why.

I guess one person's nice noise is another's clanging din. Just looked up Woodstock windchimes and it's looks like they have those. So for those thinking they sound nice, they are probably irritating your neighbors.

We have loads of kids round here, I don't mind them playing in their gardens, they usually go in by 8but the windchimes is all hours of the day and night. Tinkle, clang, bong clink. Argh!

I'll swap you for my neighbour's incessant radio played at a volume more suited to an outdoor rave than a residential area. Or his poor dog that's left out 27/7/365. Even in a blizzard or a snowstorm. By god he can howl. Not that I blame him.
I quite like windchimes myself, but I understand your problem. Any incessant noise that you personally hate is going to drive you mad. And these ones do sound a bit much.

Just take them down in the middle of the night and dump them in another neighbours green bin.

Our neighbours had some in their back garden which nearly drove us nuts, as our room is on the back of the house, theirs is at the front (!!).

One morning, after a particularly breezy night, I told them politely that they'd been making a racket all night which nearly drove us potty. They moved them to out side their front door (under their bedroom window). Strangely, they disappeared completely shortly thereafter ......

Good thing the middle word is an adjective rather than a verb. Otherwise you'd have a much bigger problem.

Are you my neighbour...? I put a huge one outside last year to annoy my neighbour as she is a cunt. Its not there this year unless she misbehaves again.

Windchimes are SO FUCKING ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!

I loathe the things. I work from home and have to listen all day and all night to the clank clank clank of my neighbours windchimes.

It seriously pisses me off.

It’s a nice, quiet estate. No dogs barking, no shrieking kids, no cars revving. Just the chimes. Always the chimes. Fucking twatty things. Hateful.

@Limpopobongo I'm not, we only recently moved in to this house. I do however suspect they were put up.to annoy the previous owners, who were cunts!

Thank you for writing this post. I have never felt able to express my views on wind chimes in public before - I hate them! I think that they should be illegal and I think that the people who inflict them on others are completely selfish! And breathe - now back to pretending I am a chilled adult and such things don’t really bother me!

Our neighbors tree dangles quite a lot in our garden...I've hung some on the branches🙄..small tasteful ones ..oh dear
