It went quite cool and rained earlier then annoyingly jacked back up

9amTrain · 01/07/2018 20:23

My bedroom is like a sauna and I'm sick of it

LadyOdd · 01/07/2018 20:27

It’s 38-34 for the entire week but I do live abroad the coolest will be 22 lol

Wonkypalmtree · 01/07/2018 20:28

In the south east and it’s still 26c outside

londonloves · 01/07/2018 20:29

It's 26 inside our house in London (in baby's room 😭), maybe a bit cooler outside.
Had a grim day with a snooze refusing baby who seems to have heat rash or bites or something.
Not sure how we are going to get through the next two weeks... paddling pool all day I think!

granof3 · 01/07/2018 20:30

Very nesh. Soon as the sun goes behind a cloud I feel cold. Besides a towl I always feel the need a a blanket on the beach!

granof3 · 01/07/2018 20:30

TOWEL

TheDairyQueen · 01/07/2018 20:30

I'm heartily fucked off at the relentlessness of this heat, of sticky nights and long fucking days baking me tits off in an office with no a/c. I'm very fair and burn easily in this weather, and even the six hours of night provide no respite from it.

My kidneys are complaining, my patience is fried and the diazepam is calling me like the refrains of "Oh, Danny Boy" just to get some sleep.

liverbird10 · 01/07/2018 20:32

28° here at night, am having a horrible time.

MetalMidget · 01/07/2018 20:32

The Gro-Egg of Judgment says that its 28.1 degrees in my son's room. It's red with a sad face. :(

That's with the fan on!

liverbird10 · 01/07/2018 20:33

...in the evening, inside, no AC or fans. Aaargh.

Phyllispontypandy · 01/07/2018 20:34

30 degrees here. 37 weeks pregnant. Send rain.

BonnieF · 01/07/2018 20:36

I’m in Leicestershire where it has been 29C today. The humidity is very low, however, and there is a nice breeze which makes it much more pleasant than the very humid warm weather we normally get in the UK. Closing the curtains on the ‘sunny side’ of the house in the afternoon makes a big difference. Itwhat they do in hot countries.

Long may it continue. Smile

LanguidLobster · 01/07/2018 20:40

Phyllis have a little cold water splash. Ice cream?

I thought I'd posted this in chat then wondered where it had gone, see, the heat is affecting the brain cell.

Really hope it cools again soon though

High 20's in Staffordshire- am loving it!

BBQs, meals outside, ice cream, strawberries. So lovely to wear sundresses and shorts normally only worn on holiday.

Am working full time (teaching KS1) so kids are a bit crabby but we're coping.

Just hope it continues into the school summer holidays

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 01/07/2018 20:43

It was much drier heat during the week, but it’s been very humid today. It’s really weird closing the blinds during the day and opening them in the evening.

Any jobs that have to be done will happen between 7 and 10am and after 9pm whilst it’s like this. Apart from hanging out washing which dries in about half an hour. I can’t face the ironing pile though.

Trialsmum · 01/07/2018 20:43

It’s still 26 degrees here but there’s a bit of a breeze and I feel nice and comfortable. I’m so glad we’re finally having a summer!

LanguidLobster · 01/07/2018 20:44

I never face the ironing pile

@languidlobster Thank you I have had 3 lollies today 🙈 This kid is gonna come out looking like a Fab I'm sure.

LanguidLobster · 01/07/2018 20:47

Phyllis have one for me! A little Fab baby doesn't sound too bad

lljkk · 01/07/2018 20:49

Very comfy. Only 5miles from the sea.

LadyOdd · 01/07/2018 20:51

If you have a baby pour water on a nappy and put in the freezer, I use one wrapped in a towel when I’m bf my dd and when I carry her in the sling. Also freeze bottles of water and place them in front of the fan and where your child is sleeping to cool the room.

Armi · 01/07/2018 21:00

It’s pretty good in the wilds of Lincolnshire. 27 degrees during the day but there’s low humidity and a cool north easterly breeze, so out of direct sunlight it’s been very pleasant. I’ve just come indoors because I’m finding it a bit chilly outside, and I’m a great, fat sweaty person who really feels the heat.

I suppose being surrounded by fields and woods and all that helps, too. Am due to go to London this week, which I am dreading - love London but hate the manky stickiness of it in hot weather.

Kokapetl · 01/07/2018 21:11

We have a gro egg in my DC's room. Yesterday it was red but it rained most of the morning here (Southwest England) and today it's a bit cooler-orange!

Redcrayons · 01/07/2018 21:32

Rain! So jealous. I haven't even seen a cloud for about a week.

Bedroom is like a sauna, office with no ac is like a greenhouse.

If we could just turn the heat down at night, then half an hour of heavy rainfall at about 3am I'd be happy.

theoldtrout01876 · 01/07/2018 21:37

Im In Massachusetts. We too are having a bit of a heatwave. Its 30C in my house and almost 37C outside. I have no central air conditioning.
