AIBU to want the 'midi' length trend to bugger off?

So many gorgeous dresses ruined by the fact that they stop mid-calf. I can't be arsed to wear towering heels to compensate. Wharever happened to good old fashioned 'just above the knee'?

Midi for 5 foot 9 me means it actually cuts at the right point and is not indecent, so I love it!

Lots of 'knee length' dresses end up perilously close to showing cheek on me so YABU. Grin

Aynrand, I like having muscly legs, I fancy it makes me look like strong Amazonian type Grin

Horrible knees with varicose veins ( despite one surgery already) and other assorted large scars. No way I want my knees on display.
Maxi dresses swamp me so midi is perfect for me.

I like midi - I have awful thighs and knees although can wear knee length with thick tights. Mostly I wear jeans but this weather they are too warm. Best length dresses/skirts for me are ankle length or midi.

I totally love midi length. I'm 5'7 and they stop just over my knee which is flattering.

WilyMinx · 01/07/2018 18:06

I agree, I don't like them neither. Even very tall models wearing them look like they have short legs to me. I like dresses and skirts that only just cover the knee.

goose1964 · 01/07/2018 18:15

I love them, a lot better than the minis that look like you're only half dressed

BlooBagoo · 01/07/2018 18:22

I'm loving the midi trend. We attend some functions with rather strict dress codes so above the knee isn't an option and because I'm on the shorter side maxis are too long (and petite maxis just a little too short). Midi is perfect for me and means I can show off whatever lovely shoes I decide to buy for each event. Grin

I am 5'4" and overweight.
I look like Mrs Pepperpot in a midi. :(

LakieLady · 01/07/2018 18:37

I love midi, it ends at the slimmest part of my leg. My knees are fat and I have thunderthighs, but I still have a well-turned ankle.

I love midi skirts - think post war Dior..."the new look".

So elegant.
