To want to play World Of Warcraft?

I used to play about 10 years ago. I miss it. Not sure I can bear to start all over again and not sure my PC is up to it.

I got a bit put off by other players being twats in a dungeon I was in. I'm not very good at it Blush I levelled very slowly up to 60 something but I understand the level cap is now 110! Does anyone else play?

Interesting that if you look at amazon, the other suggested purchases are colouring books and mindfulness stuff! It's definitely a good way to switch off for a while.

I'm actually really looking forward to seeing my hunter.

You could say I gave up my marriage for WoW - XH gave me an ultimatum and I made the right choice! I owe it a great debt as I might never have found the impetus to leave a very unhealthy set-up.

Nest of Vipers lured me back to WoW after a longish break, but in a little while it began to die down and then I missed my old guildmates on another realm, so I went back there. I've played with them for the best part of a decade, more casually nowadays as I don't have the mental energy for a full-time job, manage household and support 12 characters. (It is absolutely necessary to have one of every class at max level. That's my thing. They call me the Alt Queen.)

I'm a committed Hordie but also have a few Alliance just so I can get faction-specific mounts etc and sometimes get their side of the story. (Particularly important at the beginning of Legion. Explains the whole misunderstanding.) I hate having to hang out with gnomes and being nice to dryads, though. You're supposed to kill them!

Fwend · 27/06/2018 09:36

I named my firstborn after my dwarf hunter. Blush

God I miss that game!

Jorah · 27/06/2018 09:39

So what class should I try? I levelled my hunter to 86 and a mage to 40 something.

Druid? I like long range fighting!

Anyone on Azjol-Nerub? Sharded with Quel'Thelas these days. I have exactly one friend who is usually sitting at the other end of the room.

Goldmonday · 27/06/2018 09:51

Ahhh every few years I get this urge, spend a week staying up until 2am and forgetting to eat. Then it passes again! Although I think there's a new one coming out next month so will probably get back into it.

I always play blood elf hunter (they are the prettiest characters imo)

Jorah · 27/06/2018 09:53

Maybe I'll try horde. Everything is so ugly though Grin

I played loooooooots about ten years ago then gave it up when I split with my then boyfriend. Every so often I say I’m going to get back into it but have avoided it. I do play Elder Scrolls Online now though but have just started it.

TheQueef · 27/06/2018 10:28

It's like a bat call.

Frankenterfer · 27/06/2018 10:30

I used to play. A lot. Horde side. But I often don't have time, so switched to guild wars 2 which is also pretty but free to play after the initial purchase.

Frankenterfer · 27/06/2018 10:31

Oh, and I will always miss WOW. I miss my blood elf Warlock, my hyacinth macaw and my netherwing drake!

ZeroToleranceLeft · 27/06/2018 10:37

I've been considering going back to WoW after a bit of a break and this thread has convinced me. My lv110 Prot/Ret Paladin is coming out of retirement to be shouted at by young people.

Jorah · 27/06/2018 10:42

I don't want to be shouted at. I need a good soloing class.

Apparently affliction warlock or guardian druid are good for soloing

@GinDoll Me too Blush

Knittinganewme · 27/06/2018 11:36

I wouldn't notice shouting, I have enough on avoiding standing in pools of stuff that would kill me, minding the mechanics and keeping in range. It would go right over my head. I prefer questing though.

Oogie · 27/06/2018 11:52

This has just brought back so many memories. Before kids my DH and I played the game non stop and made some life long friends. We actually got to the stage when raiding MC (vanilla) that we realised if we ordered a pizza on a certain boss, it would arrive in time for thr raid ‘comfort’ breakGrin We would raid one handed and shovel slices of pizza in our mouths!
I spent a fortune on that game and managed to go to the Paris Invitational and Blizzcon in Anaheim in 2009.
I mainly played for yhe non combat pet collectingBlush and my wee character made it into the first edition magazine. That magazine lasted about four issues as it wasn’t very goodGrin
You all make me want to reinstate my account!!!

TheUnknowner · 27/06/2018 12:07

For the alliance

Jorah · 27/06/2018 12:07

I think I might like pet collecting and pet battles Blush

OP posts:
Jorah · 27/06/2018 12:08

I said to dh last night "Salah huzza" or whatever it is the night elves say as greeting

It said it made him shiver! Proustian rush!

TheUnknowner · 27/06/2018 12:10

Wow classic is coming soon

Jorah · 27/06/2018 12:13

Yes I've heard about that. I played vanilla for a bit and actually found it quite annoying and boring Grin I like all the new fiddly bits and I want a void elf

OP posts:
Oogie · 27/06/2018 12:16

@Jorah if you want to see the non combat pets you can collect the I highly recommend warcraftpets.com. I think it’s still around and run by an Alliance Mage named Breanni

GinBunnie · 27/06/2018 12:21

Affliction is good for soloing in current set up due to life drain but that's going away with the next month. Boo.

Hunter is good for solo content, or any of the tank classes.

I can't decide what to main in BFA. I hate new expansions and change!
