To want to play World Of Warcraft?

I used to play about 10 years ago. I miss it. Not sure I can bear to start all over again and not sure my PC is up to it.

I got a bit put off by other players being twats in a dungeon I was in. I'm not very good at it Blush I levelled very slowly up to 60 something but I understand the level cap is now 110! Does anyone else play?

It's Nest of Vipers. I was in the guild from the start but after a few months everyone had disappeared. I haven't played for years so not sure if more active now.

TheQueef · 26/06/2018 18:18

I darent use my work one.

I've seen r/pcmasterrace some of those are a thing of beauty.

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 26/06/2018 18:19

Ok there are guilds called:-

"Nest of Vipers" (2 blue snakes on a pinkish background)
"Twin Vipers" (green 2 headed snake on a red background)

But I can't find "Viper's Nest".

Jorah · 26/06/2018 18:26

What rwlm are they on?

OP posts:
NotARegularPenguin · 26/06/2018 18:26

It's Nest of Vipers.

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 26/06/2018 18:41

Ty NARP I didn't see your last post before I posted.

Jorah it's on Vek'nilash.

Jorah · 26/06/2018 18:45

Aw
I don't want to be horde.

OP posts:
BearsDontDigOnDancing · 26/06/2018 19:15

It was Nest of Vipers, horde side on Vek'nilash iirrc.

I joined and probably still have a character in there, but I just prefer to he alliance.

I am alliance on Silvermoon and am (reluctant!!!) guild leader of a social guild on there.

I used to raid in Vanilla - WOTLK but I am purely social now. I will do LFR to complete the story but that is it.

My husband was on the alpha for BFA and he said it looks very good, he was super impressed.

If you played about 10 years ago, lvling has changed so much. Cata changed a lot of the zones, plus now they introduced a level-scaling system. Zones and their quests scale with the players level.

ZispinAndDisappointingTea · 26/06/2018 19:31

I've played it on and off since Burning Crusade came out. Only a relatively short while actually doing proper guild raids and trying for all the best gear, but that really wasn't for me. The raids got very stressful and felt like an obligation, so since MoP came out I made sure to never try to get back that kind of playing.

I do love hunting for the odd achievement, fishing and herbalism and all that general casual stuff. Having said that, I've not played for quite a while now, as I couldn't bear the idea of even one more world quest. I've pre-ordered the next one, though, so I'm sure I'll end up going back to it again. I think I'm emotionally attached to my blood elf paladin...

YouTheCat · 26/06/2018 19:35

I tried playing horde but don't enjoy the starting areas for any of them except the goblins.

I've found that this is much less of an issue these days with the LFG and LFR. Most of the time people don't talk to you, or even pay attention to you (unless you're a tank or a healer, and not always then). It's definitely easier to just go through things the best you can, and there's simple ingame guides to instances and bosses that are helpful to look up before, if you have no idea. And if things aren't going great, you can just easily drop out of the group and re-queue later.

NotARegularPenguin · 26/06/2018 19:39

I still have nightmares about some dungeon where we all jumped off a ledge and I was stuck on some sort of net and couldn't find the way off. Took me like 5 mins and the other players were screaming abuse. I dropped out in the end.

siwel123 · 26/06/2018 20:00

We're you posting about this on a train? There's a thread about you..

Firesuit · 26/06/2018 20:08

My DH plays and she's 73.

You husband is a 73-year-old woman?

YouTheCat · 26/06/2018 20:10

Well this 48 year old woman is off to do her dailies.

NotARegularPenguin · 26/06/2018 20:17

I was contributing to this thread on a train, is there a thread about me?

Jorah · 26/06/2018 20:17

I just want to explore and level up my cooking! I've managed to get in and my character is still there, level 86 Smile but it's loading very slowly. I'm not sure my PC will even handle it any more. I've just signed in for the free trial with the level 20 cap to check it still works ok

OP posts:
Jorah · 26/06/2018 20:18

I am not on a train

OP posts:
Jorah · 26/06/2018 20:20

I do remember making some really good mates on there and doing dungeons together - that was awesome.

OP posts:
NotARegularPenguin · 26/06/2018 20:20

@silwel123 where is the train thread?

Jorah · 26/06/2018 20:28

Ha ha it finally loaded but I didn't realise. I have a mage called. Pointyburde and she got killed while I was looking at my phone.

Good start.

NotARegularPenguin · 26/06/2018 20:28

Found it, think it might be me!

beltanewalk · 26/06/2018 20:30

I used to play, stopped just before the last expansion. It took up too much time, Wednesdays/raid reset day were hell on earth! I do miss it though Grin

NightRaven52 · 26/06/2018 20:30

Ooh I have found my people! I've been playing since it came out. It has changed a lot in the last few years; I used to love dungeons and raiding but very rarely find friendly groups anymore (though it does amuse me when someone gets salty and calls me a "noob"). Haven't been able to play as much since DS came along, cant wait until he's old enough to play so he can be my healer Grin

CanaBanana · 26/06/2018 20:31

Oh I used to love Warcraft! Prior to becoming a mum and having all my time sucked up by childcare. Nowadays I'm lucky if I even have time for a bath never mind a hobby.
