To hate this English Summer and the boiling hot weather we’re having?

It’s so hot! Appallingly so. I am in the lightest of t shirts and yet still sweating. I love the sun on holiday but hate it in this country, it seems more a blistering kind of heat, disgustingly so. Hope the summer ends very soon! Bring back Autumn/Winter!!

NC because people display negativity to those that dare say they hate the sun

Buns, just an idea, but if you look at the logs or things from people who do live in hot places, I'm sure there are some ideas you can take. When I was living in Vietnam, in the winter are used to eat a lot of ginger, drink hot water, etc. I always had pho in the morning, and because we didn't have hot water for bathing, we would boil it and then wash your hair with cold water. I know it doesn't bring much comfort to you, if you don't like this weather. But I have lived in both types of weather, one summer we had a power cuts every Single day for four months, this was in 40° heat and I'm talking eight hours at a time with no electricity. We would avoid doing things during the middle of the day, could you take a nap when it gets very hot? This is what we used to do. Also, cold cloth on your arms, neck, face, help a lot. Are used to just jump in the shower, cold water. That helped. Drink a lot of water. Sorry, I'm sure you know all of these things. And as I said, I'm somebody who is the opposite from you, I really don't like "cold" weather. But I have learned tips and tricks to deal with both

Buns, I actually like the sun because I can see better. Not because I like sunbathing. 😂😂 That's another reason why I don't like when it rains so much, are used to have one of those seasonal something disorder lights which was great. I need to get another one.

To people who don't like the winter, for whatever reason, I had one of these. As I said, I need very bright lights because I'm severely visually impaired, so for me, the writer, the better. And this was great.

Loved the hot weather when I lived in the Middle East where it was regularly 35c. Pool ready to jump into after work, air con in every room, everyone drives everywhere as no footpaths on roads so travelling is always with air con, big tiled floor houses.
Heat sucks in the UK.

Hi, the brighter, the better. Dictation did not get that one right.

hellokittymania · 27/06/2018 12:57

I get it all from air conditioning being on to Hai. I like fans though. Are used to, unbelievably, walk 7 miles each way to where I needed to go, including in the heat so he really doesn't bother me.

I remember when I was in Singapore though, being outside and then going into one of the malls, I literally would get a cold. 😂😩

hellokittymania · 27/06/2018 12:58

Sorry, dictation making a lot of errors.

I’m in the NW and it’s 27 here according to my phone. Saddleworth Moor is on fire! It’s creating a smog that’s making people feel thoroughly shit at best, and is no doubt quite dangerous for some. We’re used to it raining here and me and my ginger offspring are struggling. It’s most unusual that it’s warmer here than down south.

DesertSky · 27/06/2018 20:27

BatShitBuns I HAD been taking Vit D vitamins daily and even with them I was found to have VERY low levels of Vit D from blood tests. I am now on a higher dose of Vitamin D since being diagnosed. The DR told me there was an increased number of people suffering from the recent Winter which was particularly long and gloomy.

Oliversmumsarmy · 28/06/2018 06:53

*After the miserable long, dark and bloody freezing Winter we just had which resulted in me suffering badly from a Vitamin D deficiency,

You should be taking supplements. Everyone in the UK should be taking Vit D supplements*

Says it all really

Feeling upset that my neighbour's lovely white cat has sunburn on her ears Sad

cricketmum84 · 28/06/2018 15:55

@LoniceraJaponica poor cat! Do you have a god enough relationship with them to say something to them about it? Sunburn on cat ears is so dangerous! There was one in our local rescue recently who had to have them amputated! You can just stick baby factor 50 cream on them.

LoniceraJaponica · 28/06/2018 15:56

I think I will. Thank you. She is a lovely cat.

Does it? This is the UK, not the med. I don't know why people are surprised that our summers are consistently mixed. We're aren't supposed to have blistering heat from May-August.
