To hate this English Summer and the boiling hot weather we’re having?

It’s so hot! Appallingly so. I am in the lightest of t shirts and yet still sweating. I love the sun on holiday but hate it in this country, it seems more a blistering kind of heat, disgustingly so. Hope the summer ends very soon! Bring back Autumn/Winter!!

NC because people display negativity to those that dare say they hate the sun

Wish me luck folks. Off to Germany to see family soon. The humidity there what with it being totally landlocked, gets me every time. And there’s 60 stairs to get to the flat. In. This. Heat. 😱

Whirlytastic · 27/06/2018 10:00

sortofcool Germany does have a coast. But I get that a lot of the country is quite far from it. Have a good time and stay cool!

ItsNachoCheese · 27/06/2018 10:11

Today or tomorrow is to be the hottest day in scotland since 1995 Shock

9amTrain · 27/06/2018 10:13

@Oliversmumsarmy so go out and enjoy the sun while it's here and leave those who don't like it to moan about it alone, just as you are free moan about the colder weather for 9 months...

SoyDora · 27/06/2018 10:17

I’m sitting outside enjoying the sun while reading this thread... multitasking Wink

CurbsideProphet · 27/06/2018 11:04

I'm really lucky that I mainly work from home. I'm so sun sensitive I will need to put suncream on for a 15mins round trip to the post box. Much sympathy to the commuters, especially those travelling on Northern Rail.

Brendatheblender · 27/06/2018 11:07

YABU I love this weather and would gladly have it all year long (except for Christmas when I would like it to be lovely and snowy)

Brendatheblender · 27/06/2018 11:08

I wasn’t saying the above when I had a 24 hour labour and 5 day stay in hospital in 30 degree heat a few years back!

SoyDora · 27/06/2018 11:17

^ me either, DD2 was born in the middle of a heatwave in July 2015 and it was torture! The week before she was born I didn’t even bother going to bed, I just slept upright on the sofa with my feet in cold water and a fan directed at me!

Brendatheblender · 27/06/2018 11:20

I feel your pain, it was end of June beginning of July 2015. The ward was absolutely sweltering and another woman’s husband insisted on shutting the windows, he was allowed to stay 24/7, I lost it with him in the end!

Oliversmumsarmy · 27/06/2018 11:29

I am outside and working.

The issue is I wish it lasted longer as then I might have time to enjoy it and sit in the sun but I only have a few weeks per year to work. If it was hotter for longer I might have time when the work is done to sit in the sun and enjoy it.

SoyDora · 27/06/2018 11:34

Yes, exactly the same time DD2 was born Brendatheblender!

DesertSky · 27/06/2018 11:38

After the miserable long, dark and bloody freezing Winter we just had which resulted in me suffering badly from a Vitamin D deficiency, I for one am absolutely loving this sunny weather. Long may it continue - sorry!!

hellokittymania · 27/06/2018 12:00

WHAT?????? 🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

You are being very very very very very very very very very very very unreasonable. I grew up in Florida, and lived the majority of my adult life in Southeast Asia. We get freezing weather 99.9% of the time in the UK. Let those of us who love the sun, love the sun!

hellokittymania · 27/06/2018 12:00

Hey, we might even get lightning! Not that I like lightning, but it would feel like Florida. And Vietnam.

Mogleflop · 27/06/2018 12:04

But who is "not letting" you love it?

Can someone explain how people getting ill from heat stops you enjoying it?

hellokittymania · 27/06/2018 12:15

Flop, I like the heat, and yes I have been sick from it as well. But I don't like cold weather having grown up in very hot climates. When you have to live in 40° heat, with no air-conditioning, not everybody enjoys it, but you learn to deal with it. On the other hand, when the temperature goes to 20 people wear winter coats, including me.

JacquesHammer · 27/06/2018 12:18

Let those of us who love the sun, love the sun!

How is anybody saying they don't like heat stopping you from loving the sun? Confused

hellokittymania · 27/06/2018 12:24

Hammer, because in two weeks time when it's back to being 10° and freezing and raining, everybody will be complaining about that. Just watch.

hellokittymania · 27/06/2018 12:25

It's the weather, people will always have something to say about it.

JacquesHammer · 27/06/2018 12:26

Hammer, because in two weeks time when it's back to being 10° and freezing and raining, everybody will be complaining about that. Just watch

Which still - even if true - doesn't stop you enjoying the heat in any way...

Skyejuly · 27/06/2018 12:29

I like a sunny day but don't like the days where it just feels sticky.

hellokittymania · 27/06/2018 12:30

No, it definitely does not. It doesn't stop me from enjoying the mango coconut Popsicles either! 😂

BatShitBuns · 27/06/2018 12:31

I love the fact that the majority of Britain does nothing but moan and whinge the 352 days of the year it's not boiling hot, and yet those of us who are uncomfortable in this weather are called killjoys for complaining on the other 14.

Hate hot weather. My two year old is really suffering with his eczema because of it too.

BatShitBuns · 27/06/2018 12:32

After the miserable long, dark and bloody freezing Winter we just had which resulted in me suffering badly from a Vitamin D deficiency,

You should be taking supplements. Everyone in the UK should be taking Vit D supplements.
