Oh no, not the Sundaes... have loved those since I was 12 (30yrs ago!!)

KneesupGaston · 22/06/2018 23:20

Aw Sad I love the toffee sundaes. Not so keen on McFlurrys, I don't like crunchy bits in my ice cream.

QuestionableMouse · 22/06/2018 23:30

Sundaes are available until September so you have time. I love them too and am gutted they're going.

well its stil a shame theres a few of us on here that wil miss it

QuestionableMouse · 23/06/2018 10:13

Get in touch with head office and complain. The more people who complain, the more chance there is of them staying in the menu.

I never quite understood why chocolate sundaes werent a thing here? Love BK's ones

My fav flurry was the chocolate cornetto ones. All the yes.

ShakespearesSisters · 24/06/2018 19:56

Is there anything to

ShakespearesSisters · 24/06/2018 19:57

Oops - dodgy finger

Is there anything to stop us ordering a tool mcflurry for example, with just the toffee sauce? My kids don't like bits in their icecream. Then will basically be a sundae?

ShakespearesSisters · 24/06/2018 19:58

Really should preview!
Tool = rolo

TheChippendenSpook · 24/06/2018 19:59

Hot fudge sundaes were the best. The last time I went to Florida, I had one every day. I loved them!

WineAndTiramisu · 24/06/2018 20:00

I love the toffee sundaes, used to adore the hot fudge ones. Can't believe they're going Sad

dingdongdigeridoo · 24/06/2018 20:04

Oh no! The sundaes are nice. I prefer them to a McFlurry because they’re smooth. I don’t really like bits in my ice cream.

Agree with PP about the big breakfast too. That was a hangover staple when I was at uni. A big plate of delicious beige!

ShakespearesSisters Nothing to stop you at the moment. But the second sundaes go, so will the toffee (and strawberry) sauce. So you won’t be able to then.

QuestionableMouse · 24/06/2018 20:22

Rolo was a promo flurry and isn't available all year. No sundaes, no sauces sadly.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 24/06/2018 20:46

Ahh, didn’t see the typo update and assumed you meant to type toffee Grin

Yeah, QuestionableMouse is right. The only three flurries available all year round are Dairy Milk, Crunchie and Oreo.

The sign that a McFlurry is a promotional one is if has sauce as well as topping, as the regular Flurries do not have sauce and are cheaper due to that.

Stopfeckinexaggerating · 24/06/2018 21:05

Where does it say about the sundaes? 😖😖

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 24/06/2018 21:13

Surely a couple of tubs of sauce don't cost that much? Ice cream vans give you sauce free.

raisedbyguineapigs You’d be very surprised at the costs of a lot of our raw ingredients!

It’s not just “a couple of tubs of sauce” though. You have thousands of restaurants around the UK, and each of them has to buy toffee and strawberry sauce entirely for one low selling product.

So we don’t sell that many, and they don’t have a long shelf life once opened. We are extremely strict about shelf life and bags do get discarded when they should be, so the fact that we don’t sell a lot increases our wastage costs, meaning we’re better off taking them off the menu as we’re losing money on them.

angelnix · 24/06/2018 21:24

I miss the hot fudge sundaes, they were amazing

RedForFilth · 24/06/2018 21:54

Can we do an all you can eat flurry/sundae gathering in protest?

QuestionableMouse · 24/06/2018 23:46

Mass protest is the only way they'd be kept or brought back and I don't think enough people eat them for it to happen.

Sundae sauces can be a sticky mess, and it's easy to waste them. I had to chuck two bags of strawberry out today because it was over date. It's not cheap either (don't forget each store buys it in bulk).

OP posts:
raisedbyguineapigs · 25/06/2018 08:38

Well fair enough really then if not many people eat them and perfectly good food is getting thrown away. My mum is the only one I know who eats them, and she is diabetic and has them instead of lunch, so I don't really care if they go. I do agree they are much nicer than McFlurries though, especially the ones that are just ice cream with cold chocolate and no sauce!

BrendasUmbrella · 25/06/2018 14:10

I tried a toffee sundae yesterday. Wow they use a lot of toffee sauce in them. I expected a drizzle over the top of the icecream, not for a third of the tub to be toffee! Very nice though...

MissMooMoo · 25/06/2018 14:19

So upset about the sundae!! I rarely get mcflurrey's here as they always seem to be only mixed a bit on the top. Why do they mix them by hand in the UK?!
