Mini and reduced size flurries start next week. And no more sundaes after September.

Get your fill now while you can 😂😂😂

Love the toffee Sundaes, will have to treat myself to one next week.

Myotherusernameisbest · 22/06/2018 16:07

Is it actual ice cream though? I've always wondered that as it doesn't seem to melt like normal ice cream and tastes of pretty much nothing.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 22/06/2018 16:10

Toffee sundaes?? No, surely they wouldn’t get rid of them? They got me through the dark days of the toddler years. When things got really bad with 3 screaming toddlers and a baby I would drive miles to McDonalds, order myself a toffee sundae, turn up the music in the car and sob my heart out until the ice cream and every scrap of toffee was gone. Then wipe my tears, give the DC some apple slices and drive home. 😂😂

ziggiestardust · 22/06/2018 16:13

I’m just going to buy 2 mini McFlurries if they won’t give me a large sized one Grin

Same here!

totallyliterally · 22/06/2018 16:28

I'm still posted they stopped doing the breakfasts.. the ones on a tray.

I always thought I'd imagine the hot caramel sundaes as a part of my blurred 20's

totallyliterally · 22/06/2018 16:28

Pissed not posted.

BrendasUmbrella · 22/06/2018 16:30

I won't launch into another Cadbury's rant, but their waxy chocolate ruined McFlurries for me anyway.

LartenCrepsley · 22/06/2018 16:31

Aww Sad I love the toffee sundae.

JovialNickname · 22/06/2018 16:31

Whenever I've been into my local McDonalds (Kingston upon Thames Eden St, Surbiton Victoria Rd) you can never get ice creams or milkshakes anyway, something to do with not being bothered to clean the ice cream machine I believe. The fact that it's the height of summer apparently makes no difference! So just another thing they purport to offer but don't really I think. If I could get any form of ice cream based product at all from any of the McDonalds in my area I think I'd be quite happy!

starryeyed19 · 22/06/2018 16:33

NO MORE SUNDAES?!

QuestionableMouse · 22/06/2018 19:30

@JovialNickname, every McDonald's I know cleans the machines to a very strict schedule. If ice cream isn't available, it's genuinely because something has broken (or someone has pressed heat treat by accident).

Sundaes is because of the sugar tax. The smaller flurries are a great idea and they're only going to be 60p ish.

@JovialNickname, oh and because it's the height of summer, the machines get hammered. Ours was being used pretty much constantly all day today.

AfterSchoolWorry · 22/06/2018 19:37

What, but no?!

Confused

My daughter loves Oreo mcflurries. I'm gonna FLOUNCE to Burger King! Angry

QuestionableMouse · 22/06/2018 19:50

You'll still be able to get flurries, just in small and slightly smaller sizes.

Lucked · 22/06/2018 19:54

Since I learned (on mumsnet of course) that you can ask for extra sauce with a sundae they have become one of my favourite things, even if I only have them 4 or 5 times a year.

RJnomore1 · 22/06/2018 19:56

What's this about sundaes?

Ffs

Can we have a campaign

This has ruined my Friday!

BitchQueen90 · 22/06/2018 19:57

Do you work there OP?

MadameJosephine · 22/06/2018 19:59

afterschoolworry

No need to worry, I’ve just discovered the kit kat fusion at Burger King, it’s bloody lovely

StrawberryStar · 22/06/2018 20:03

Wait - you can get extra sauce on your Sunday? I’ll have to take full advantage of that between now and September.

GabsAlot · 22/06/2018 20:07

and this is what i mean about jamie oliver-celebrating his bloody win on sugar then everything disappears

im an adult i can choose what i want when i want it

apparently no

Itchytights · 22/06/2018 20:08

Have been put off McFlurrys forever today.

DS 2 was eating happily eating his galaxy McFlurry today, when he discovered a massive long thick hair half way down....

I was furious. He’s only 3 ffs.

The hair definitely not ours as diffferent colour ( boak ) ....

Took offending item back to Manager... lots of apologies and offers of free food etc but no explanation as to how it got there.

Grim beyond words.

cadiekitten · 22/06/2018 20:12

Oh no! I love McDonald's toffee sundaes 😕. If I want to eat sugary crap once in a while I'd gladly pay the extra sugar tax. They are a treat not everyday food..... madness, McDonald's seriously need to get with program they're not there for healthy eating 😂

DarkDarkNight · 22/06/2018 20:13

I like this - better topping to ice cream ratio.

Badbadbunny · 22/06/2018 20:14

Dodging the sugar tax?

McFlurries and Sundaes aren't soft drinks so the "sugar tax" doesn't apply to them.
