Krispy kreme bites and original glazed are the most amazing doughnuts in the world!

Aibu? Or am I missing out on doughnuts elsewhere?

St John's donuts and Bread Ahead ones are essentially the same - both started by Justin Gellatly (he was at St John's prior to starting Bread Ahead). Both amazing, but I prefer Bread ahead - just a bit less sugary, if that is possible in a donut.

Morrison’s apple filled doughnuts are like crack. They have powdered sugar on them instead of granulated and it makes all the difference, especially with the delicious stodgy dough 😍😭

If I can go international then I’m voting the maple butter pecan doughnuts from Pies n Thighs in Brooklyn. It’s the size of my face, weighs about a pound and is so delicious it brings tears to my eyes.

Their sour cherry and pear crumble pie is pretty fucking outstanding too, while I’m at it.

I do love a good Krispy Kreme glazed ring, but the best doughnuts ever in the history of the world come from Top Pot.

I’m currently making them using this recipe which is by far the best I’ve used. They’re also very easy to make. When frying, take your time and keep the pan on the smallest hob on the lowest heat and keep turning them. That’s the only tricky part. I glaze mine with royal icing/milk/vanilla. Kids love them! Grin The best (or worse) thing is they’re made with basic cupboard ingredients so always on hand!

Thank you @HateSummer. I think...

Another vote for fresh hot donut van donuts. Nothing else comes even close.

KK are all right, but a bit stodgy and sickly.

When I was a kid, there was a Donut Diner in Wandsworth, that I used to love going to. My favourite one was like a huge chocolate eclair, with a filling of fresh cream, and topped with chocolate icing. I was really sad when it closed, and I've never had a doughnut that comes close since then. Sad

I do like the doughnuts fresh from a van, and I love churros too.

Lidl filled doughnuts. Any of them really, but the chocolate hazelnut one with the swirls on is king of them all.
