I second Tantrum doughnuts in Glasgow. I tried them for the first time last month, they are simply amazing!

@Mymouthgetsmeintrouble yes! Morrison's are the best. Powdered ring doughnuts are my fave. Pleasantly surprised by the salted caramel ones as I don't usually like salted caramel anything

I've never had a KK one, too expensive.
Seaside ones are the best, closely followed by Lidl ones.

I think KK doughnuts are inedible crap - much prefer a sugar dredged jam one - yum.

I have a friend who mistakenly thinks I like them and when she visits brings a huge box - I don't have the heart to tell her I hate them so after she leaves, they are devoured by the kids playing on the green opposite.

They're good (and you can get them cake-sized!) but I think my very favourite are fairground/beach doughnuts, hot in a paper bag with sugar.

Strangely I am not keen on yum yum's, I find they are very dry.

Nothing beats a traditional bakery doughnut - slightly crunchy outside not that soft supermarket mutipack version.

Birds is exclusive to the Midlands it's bloody fantastic.

Soft donut, fresh cream in the middle and caramel icing on the top. Gooooorjuss!

The five daughter bakery in Nashville has donuts with one hundred layers, I had a lovely lavender type one.
