I'll read that now BoB.

"We are gathered today to hear directly from the AMERICAN VICTIMS of ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. These are the American Citizens permanently separated from their loved ones b/c they were killed by criminal illegal aliens. These are the families the media ignores..."

FFS - there are plenty of people who are trying to migrate to the USA for a range of reasons - and he seeks to link illegal immigration to the people who have been killed by some illegal immigrants.

I wonder what the actual proportion is? How many illegal immigrants end up killing someone?

He is using people's deaths to justify this policy of forced separation.

kalapattar · 22/06/2018 22:07

He is blaming a whole group of people for 'his' people's deaths, promising to protect his people, separating the children from that group, putting them into camps and wanting to appear as a protector.

Read into that what what you will.

  1. As Godwin himself just said, Godwin's Law is out the window with this crew. In ways that go beyond alarming, they are mimicking consciously or unconsciously Hitler's rise. The time to stop this nonsense is now, not when it's too late.

Gumpendorf take care of yourself and thanks for your posts. It’s very hard not to feel affected by such dreadful things. Sad

Not normal?

Trump is asking the Pentagon to spend $1 billion to build militarized tent cities with the capacity to detain 119,000 people — and that's not even including the military bases that have been told to prepare for up to 20,000 child detainees.

TheClaws · 23/06/2018 01:10

Why does he insist on dehumanising people this way? And why is his own party ignoring it? Rifts are growing ever larger and conflicts closer - all because of the election of this one person and his divisive rhetoric.

Take 'er easy, Gump. We all need a break once in a while.

Oh, Gump, Flowers

Lweji · 23/06/2018 06:18

This is not new.

He insisted immigrants were responsible for crimes in his campaign.
Hannity ran shows on it.
His whole campaign had fascist written on it.
He won enough states. Sad

BolleauxtoBankers · 23/06/2018 07:43

But this is why everyone must spread the word to those who have the vote in November, Lweji. A snippet from my favourite US reporter, on Twitter, just to cheer you up. A bit.

Pres. Trump still believes immigration is a winning issue for him. He thinks GOP will ride it to picking up seats in the House and Senate in November. Democrats in danger of once again underestimating him and overestimating polls.

I’m very glad that the little girl in that heart rending picture hasn’t been separated from her mother - I’m wondering if that is BECAUSE the picture of her was picked up by media across the world. The picture may have saved her from that.

Yy, it will be spun as proof of “fake news”, no matter how many separated children are held in cages/camps Sad

Lweji · 23/06/2018 10:47

But this is why everyone must spread the word to those who have the vote in November, Lweji.

Yes, let's hope it gives and incentive to people who don't normally bother to vote or it changes some minds.

But I meant blaming immigrants for crime and all things wrong. It seems to work. Sad

He isn't fucking showing pictures of children by US citizens with guns. Sad Angry

That's what the media and people should be showing next to this stunt.

kalapattar · 23/06/2018 11:13

It worked for Hitler in the past. It's an effective tool and it's so disturbing.

Any attempt to call him out on this is labelled as 'disgraceful' by Republicans.

'Former Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has hit out at Russian President Vladimir Putin, describing him as the leader of a “white supremacist and xenophobic movement” which is designed to “weaken America’s traditional alliances and undermine democracy.”

The former secretary of state did not mince words when discussing the Mr Putin during a lecture at Trinity College Dublin, and declared that Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election - which is the subject of multiple investigations in the US Congress and the FBI - as a "clear and present danger" to Western democracy.'

A teenager jogging on the beach in Canada crossed the U.S. border accidentally. ICE and CPB drove her over 100 miles south and kept her in detention for 2 weeks.

I'm not surprised at any of this shit. I worked with ICE agents (then known as INS) and they seemed to have that chip on shoulder, big ego, mentality. Like, "Yeah, I'm bad, I'm a COP, suckers. Respect the BADGE". I never encountered that with any other Fed law enforcement and I worked with them all ATF, FBI, SS, etc. All very professional. But INS? Real attitude.

Fun story: I had professional interaction with a CIA agent not relating to his job, but other govt business and he represented himself to me as working for another (innocuous) agency. After he left and I started to do what needed to be done, his official records in our system made no sense to me so I flagged it to my manager to be checked out. Neither of us realized that CIA has a department that handles ALL business related to agents. Ended up about 48 hours later everything off my computer related to him disappeared and my manager and I were 'visited' and officially informed that we were to tell no one it had ever existed. Nor to tell anyone in the office the purpose of the visit.

But I'm retired now, so heck with 'em.
