I imagine scott Williams will be keen to collaborate in the future. I'm much too cynical. There's always a motive.

Bumpitybumper · 12/07/2018 19:39

Maybe SW Villas are keen to clarify that the holiday was paid for as being suspected of offering freebies definitely devalues brands. Conversely the fact the family paid themselves makes any endorsement genuine and therefore presumably more valuable to the brand.

I can understand why influencers wouldn't be keen to clarify when they actually have paid for something as I guess it makes it more obvious when something is gifted as the audience can work it out through omission. If you never comment either way then viewers can't be sure either way.

For anyone interested I always find Ms Budget Beauty/Mikhila Mcdaid's posts on advertising and sponsored content really interesting and this article ( although old) touches on some of the points referenced upthread.
mikhila.com/absolutely-not-a-sponsored-post/

Furfugsache · 12/07/2018 19:42

Comes back to my point though, that they didn't have to post about it on Instagram. If you don't post the pics, you don't have to answer hundreds of questions about who you booked the holiday with.

ARumDo · 12/07/2018 19:52

Exactly that Furfugsache - this is a very conscious thread of MoD's designed to name check some hugely expensive villa rental company, incessantly, for very obvious reasons.

ARumDo · 12/07/2018 19:59

Hahaha - just spied that while she is relentlessly namechecking her free holiday, FoD is flogging tv's. He always manages to appear so sleazy ........ a bit grim given he knows very clearly that his fangirls are just that, girls. Truly gross pair.

ARumDo · 12/07/2018 20:03

Oops, should have said - paid for holiday! The one she had to name check repeatedly!

Fluffyrainbows · 12/07/2018 20:08

I can imagine that if I'd had to work and go to St Lucia for the minions to review a holiday, and sacrifice my half term for a work trip to Disneyland, that when I went on a family paid for holiday with no requirement to post or share because it's not just a work trip, there would be no need to constantly tag and mention and post so many photos, as it was not work it could be precious much needed family time. But there you go.

Fluffyrainbows · 12/07/2018 20:15

It's like on one hand I'm open and disclosing and it's a job and work, but then behaving in exactly the same way when not working and expecting people to respect you're honest. There's no boundaries. And followers have no idea if it's an ad or not. But they've now crossed over into promoting a brand for future work. (Potentially) And if it wasn't a paid for collaboration why share so much with millions. I'd have to agree with others it is just for fame and greed and their own benefit.

ScipioAfricanus · 12/07/2018 20:16

Yes, looks like it will be free next year! I hate companies doing that stupid kiss face emoji at influencers. You’re a company not a twenty two year old chalet girl.

ARumDo · 12/07/2018 20:16

What - like this! Pull the other one Clemmie!

If you've got a social media presence though, and social media platforms, if you just ignore them and don't post anything for a few weeks say as you're off on holiday, your engagement will go right down. They'll be posting pics every now and again even on holiday to keep traffic up.

ScipioAfricanus · 12/07/2018 20:21

She has been unusually responsive in the comments - letting everyone know about the villa details. She isn’t normally that interactive, I don’t think.

ARumDo · 12/07/2018 20:23

Certainly does seem to be the next holiday sorted!

CadyHeron · 12/07/2018 20:23

Seeing as the threads are about how she ignores and doesn't engage, maybe she's reading and taking note.

ScipioAfricanus · 12/07/2018 20:27

Maybe, Cady! Ever the optimist!

ARumDo · 12/07/2018 20:34

We could open a book on whether her next freebie will be with the villa people or the MW holiday she was hawking at the same time. Aahhh relatable, relatable Clemmie!

Confusssed · 12/07/2018 20:34

The thing is, it will only be another few years at most that the MoFos twins will be curly haired moppets. By the time they're at junior school they may well have become distinctly less photogenic (I know my DD did) and the older girls will be teens and fiercely protective of their SM.

And then just WTAF will the MoFos have left to peddle? What will be their USP then? They literally have nothing else to pull out of the (#boden) hat. Unless, book reviews please God no

I suppose MOD will have the midwifery to fall back on? But once her own children are literally 'out of the picture' she'll just be one of many, and not nearly as experienced as some.

Confusssed · 12/07/2018 20:36

Aww, ARumDo basic school girl error, there. We all know she'll have both Wink

She went off grid for weeks and it didn’t make any difference at all Confused

CadyHeron · 12/07/2018 20:39

Maybe, Cady! Ever the optimist!

Always Smile

CadyHeron · 12/07/2018 20:41

She went off grid for weeks and it didn’t make any difference at all

She went off grid by deactivating her account if I remember correctly?
That obviously will have affected her engagement and stats as there was no account to interact with....

nipersvest · 12/07/2018 20:41

If you take the children out of fod's feed, you're left with...

@nipersvest 😂

Furfugsache · 12/07/2018 20:43

I’m talking follower numbers Cady, I’m not that dense.

nipersvest · 12/07/2018 20:45

I may well report my previous post shortly and ask for it to be taken down, but is it gurning?, sex faces? or sniffing farts? not sure...
