OK I qas having that Sunday sadness feeling and now I'm feeling casually pissed off and jealous because I went on FB and an ad popped up featuring this woman (Tammy Hemsomething apparently).

How is it possible to look like this?! What I mean is is this the result of just working out or what? But how can she get her body fat down so low for the waist, but not on her bum or tits?!

Erm... She started it by putting together a huge social media campaign based on her appearance. She's there to be judged. I'm sure she has a whole bunch of followers who think she's something to aspire to. The other side of the coin is that you will also get people who think you look weird.

And most very vain people are boring! That's not news surely.

I said she looked like a Barbie as she has an impossibly tiny waist compared to the rest of her body and (in my opinion) this disproportion isn't attractive. I couldn't care less whether she got surgery or it's natural or training, or a combination of all 3! It just reminds me of hundreds of years ago where women wore those corsets that squashed their internal organs to achieve a very similar look of "beauty". And it saddens me that this look has become popular again. I honestly thought we were starting to move past all that, and women were judged on more than what they looked like. Social media appears to have brought about a huge regression, one that I don't particularly like.

I have no judgement on this particular woman. I have no idea who she is. I just don't like the way things are now.

I don't think conventional beauty standards mean that one is judged only on whether they adhere to them. You can have an idea of what is beautiful but treat people the same regardless of whether they fit into this or not.

Unfortunately in our society we are very shallow. People like people more because they are attractive. And, as evidenced in this thread, this can lead to bitterness and jealousy and irrational stereotypes of people, especially women, who do adhere to these beauty standards.

The angling of the photo has her waist looking quite small. Obviously she's stunning - which is perhaps why people are judging her.

I don't think she's attractive. This doesn't mean I hate and judge all women! We all have different ideas of beauty. I happen to disagree with the concept of plastic surgery for many reasons and she looks very plastic. All are free to think she's beautiful

what exactly should we be judging her on, apart from showing off her body. What are we all supposed to do, stare open mouthed and say nothing, or give an honest opinion on what we think. But yes I wish we could move on, from girls using social media for such inane body posing.

There's so many women out there though. It's not even so much the posing and pouting that is annoying, it's the insinuation from a small minority that anybody else is rubbish because they don't have a hot bod..
