Bloody proper cotton bedding but WIBU to go back to a poly cotton mix?

Now I love sliding in between crisp cotton sheets, but blimey the ironing (and they still look creased - slightly less so but still)

Should I bin the lot and go back to Nexts own cotton mix bedding?

No never go back it’s horrible. Cotton all the way.

Don’t iron them?

I prefer cotton because it feels nicer but I don't iron it because I don't care if it looks crumpled. Best of both worlds!.

Life is too short to iron a sheet. You're mostly lying under it in the dark after all. Hth.

I replaced polycotton with 100% cotton when i experienced menopause and night sweats.
I would never go back. I don't always iron my bedding but would choose wrinkled cotton over pristine poly anyday.

I hate getting into sheets that haven't been ironed.

I always get polycotton fitted sheets - I don't care how tacky they are, they last longer (well...forever. Sorry environment.) hold their colour better, dry quickly, and I don't find them sweaty. I may reconsider that when I hit menopause.

They seem to smell nicer when ironed though 😕

Cotton jersey fitted sheets and pure linen pillowcases/duvet cover. Sheer heaven, ironing optional, I usually only do the pillowcases.

Where do people buy really crisp, heavy cotton bed linen?

I recently stayed in a hotel with the most fabulous bedding, but they said it's a trade only company (Solo) which I can't find anywhere. I already own 100% cotton but it doesn't feel anywhere near as lovely as the hotel's linen!

The stuff I’ve got is from John Lewis and weighs a tonne. You feel like you’re laying under something, rather than the duvet being floaty light.

And for the PP further up thread, I don’t iron the bottom sheet as that pulls tight so no need to

I have Ikea duvet covers that are 100% cotton, and they feel lovely. I don't iron them, but recently my mother took them to put in her drier for us, and returned them ironed. They do feel so crisp and clean now.

Linen/cotton mix all the way! Cooler and lighter than pure cotton.

High thread count pure cotton all the way - would hate to go back to polycotton. And although I loathe ironing, for this it is totally worth it.,

Linen sheets are best! Lovely to sleep in and they don’t need ironing.

Polyester is beyond vile - 100% cotton, preferably high count Egyptian cotton is the best, after pure linen. Don't waste your life ironing bedding which creases on first use.

The White Company do fabulous 300 thread count, pure white bedding. I absolutely love mine and don’t give a monkeys about creases, it’s too wonderful to sleep in to care!

White company sheets are amazing. I'd never go back to anything synthetic now.

We have a set of their sheets we've had 9 years now and still going strong. I don't always iron them slattern

If you hang on the line (for economy) and transfer to the tumble dryer just before they are dry, then get them out immediately they're dry, there are no creases.

After buying bloody expensive high thread count cotton bedding I'd never go back to cotton mix. It's lovely and heavy but doesn't make me too hot and sweaty like polycotton used to. It's ridiculously soft too.

I don't iron my bedding, it would take hours, but I do tumble dry it as soon as the wash finishes and take it out of the dryer and fold straight away to minimise creases.

I find using a detergent and softener in the same scent makes bedding smell nicer and keep the nice smell for longer than just using detergent.

For the sheet-ironers, however nice the non-creased feeling is, surely after one night they are creased anyway? Can it possibly be worth it?

Since buying high thread count cotton sheets I've started ironing. I used to think it was a waste of time but it really does feel so much nicer. I faffed for ages with the iron every week before realising that if I folded the duvet cover lengthways it takes a fraction of the time.
