...if you're eating cereal on the sofa and dont have any plans to leave the house, you would just shove the spoon into your mouth without any regard for the milk spilling down your front right? Or is it just me?

DP looked at me shocked as he was leaving because my Tshirt was covered in milk, but my point was the Tshirt was dirty anyway. He says hes going to buy me a giant bib for my birthday...

I am an utter trollop and have just purchased 10 identical tops so i can always have my favorite top on reasonably clean. Luckily where i live it is acceptable to look like the dog/horse/child dragged you through the hedge backwards so i get away with it.

argumentativefeminist · 13/06/2018 16:04

Wasn't referencing the whole issue, just the comments along the lines of "gosh you better stop, your husband will find this so offputting" Hmm

Nicknacky · 13/06/2018 16:06

But what’s wrong with that? I wouldn’t find my partner attractive if he ate like this.

There is nothing wrong with a man fancying his partner.

LionAllMessy · 13/06/2018 16:08

The clue's in the username

Nicknacky · 13/06/2018 16:09

Yep, I did notice the username.

argumentativefeminist · 13/06/2018 16:10

Of course not, but there is an expectation that women should remain fanciable at all times just in case they happen to be looked at and "evaluated", and I feel that the repercussions of women being momentarily gross last for longer than for men. I'm not saying it's the next big issue for feminism, it was a lighthearted comment, I'm just suggesting some people might want to consider why they see things in the way they do 😊

Nicknacky · 13/06/2018 16:12

No one has said for a second woman have to be fanciable at all times, not one poster has said anything like that. So your comment is pretty irrelevant.

argumentativefeminist · 13/06/2018 16:14

I said it was a joke meant for y'all to consider why you're piling on saying OP is disgusting when clearly her post was lighthearted too, if you dont like it maybe just move on? Hmm

Nicknacky · 13/06/2018 16:17

Sorry, I missed the “lol” at the end of your sentence which would show you were joking. Oh wait.......

And I don’t need to move on. Ta.

PretABoire · 13/06/2018 16:23

I wouldn't give a fuck. DP would laugh.

AmazingPostVoices · 13/06/2018 16:28

I’m really confused by the “Be honest”?

I assume that the OP thinks this is normal behaviour but that everyone lies about it?

That’s kinda weird OP Grin

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 13/06/2018 16:54

I would be less than impressed if my male husband was eating like a slob and willingly spilled food and drink all over himself, nothing to do with gender.

Gottagetmoving · 13/06/2018 17:01

Maybe women are allowed to be a bit grim and unsexy sometimes since men have been doing it for literally the whole of human existence

SOME men. Why is it ok to say men are like that?
Slobs are like that.
My DP isn't like that. He doesn't make a 'thing' about farting. He doesn't leave a mess. He doesn't miss the toilet having a piss or leave crap stains in the toilet bowl. He wouldn't leave towels or clothes on the floor.
Any men who are like that are because they have never been expected not to.

Bluntness100 · 13/06/2018 17:20

I wouldn't give a fuck. DP would laugh

You're well suited then. I don't know anyone who would find it funny watching their partner eat and slop food all over themselves, sitting in filthy food stained clothes, as standard practice.

YourVagesty · 13/06/2018 19:59

Reminds me of a creative writing class I once took. One of the women had written this passage about making a cup of tea and then wiping the spoon on her jumper. The tutor praised her for the realistic depiction and most of my classmates were nodding approval: 'oh yeah, we all wipe our spoons on our jumpers!'

I was Confused

People are grim.
