...if you're eating cereal on the sofa and dont have any plans to leave the house, you would just shove the spoon into your mouth without any regard for the milk spilling down your front right? Or is it just me?

DP looked at me shocked as he was leaving because my Tshirt was covered in milk, but my point was the Tshirt was dirty anyway. He says hes going to buy me a giant bib for my birthday...

OP posts:
OuchLegoHurts · 13/06/2018 13:20

I'm trying to imagine just how quickly/ messily someone could actually eat in order to spill milk all down their front. I'm not fussy but if I saw someone eating like that I'd presume they weren't the full shilling... Or else 3 years old

itsBritneyBeach · 13/06/2018 13:23

Oh get a grip everyoneGrin

I'd do this OP, but then throw the already dirty top into the wash

Mummymummums · 13/06/2018 13:25

I could only imagine this if I hadn't seen food in, say, a week. Otherwise I can't imagine resorting to pig at trough-style eating Grin

TheVanguardSix · 13/06/2018 13:28

Why limit yourself to cereal with milk?

LionAllMessy · 13/06/2018 13:28

I don't get it... The reason I don't get milk all over my top when I eat cereal isn't because I'm going to be leaving the house soon. It's because I'm an adult who can eat cereal without spilling milk over myself. It doesn't even take any effort, I just pick up the spoon and put it in my mouth!

So yeah, I would think there's something a bit wrong with you OP.

GoldenButtercup · 13/06/2018 13:28

If you can't eat without spilling it down you then you only eat at the table. Smile

Gottagetmoving · 13/06/2018 13:33

How ridiculous. Looking for approval for being a slovenly scruff!
Unless you have a physical disability or coordination issue there's no excuse for spilling that much milk down you like that.
You do it because you can't be arsed being an adult.
Grow up.

NClikecrazy · 13/06/2018 13:35

That's grim. I would hate to be your DH.

Waitingonasmiley42 · 13/06/2018 13:36

That's fuking vile. Envy

wellhonestly · 13/06/2018 13:37

Urgh, it doesn't make any difference to me whether I'm planning to leave the house or not: when eating I'm automatically careful not to spill food or liquid down my front.

Can't quite believe this is not a reverse ... alternatively am curious as to how old you are, OP.

itsBritneyBeach · 13/06/2018 13:38

I misread... I thought you said you got a drop on you, not a t shirt "covered in milk" Blush

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 13/06/2018 13:39

I can't stand messy eaters so I'm with DH, sorry.

SnigglePiggle · 13/06/2018 13:41

That's disgusting. Why are you eating like a pig, can you not manage to put the spoon in your mouth?

My nephew is 2. He eats his cereal on the sofa without spilling a drop. (This amazes me as my DC couldn't - however they are children not adults)

I think my DP would actually leave me for this. Being a slob is not an attractive trait to have.

No I would allows avoid spilling food or drink down my clothes, even if I was going to change/shower after.
I would worry about "microsplashes" of milk left in the sofa making it smell and I would hate the feel of wet clothes on me.
Also if I was in a situation where I had to eat so fast that food is "lost" onto clothes I would just eat a banana on the go or just wait and have a bigger lunch.

Sorry but I'm with your DP.

I'm a messy eater. Pasta, chilli, curry all seem to evade the spoon or fork and end up down my T shirt. If I try really hard to avoid this larger amounts end up in my lap. I am in all other respects relatively normal.

SemperIdem · 13/06/2018 13:53

It’s definitely just you.

crochetmonkey74 · 13/06/2018 13:57

ugh no

I would lose all attraction for DP if he did this- because it would show that he didn't have any self respect

yuk

BaldricksTrousers · 13/06/2018 14:01

No, because I love myself

LanaorAna2 · 13/06/2018 14:04

Loving the haterz on here, so attractive themselves. Go for it OP.

Trinity66 · 13/06/2018 14:06

Loving the haterz on here, so attractive themselves.

Well she did ask peoples opinions on it Hmm

pasturesgreen · 13/06/2018 14:07

Er...it's just you, I'm afraid.

Unless you are 2 years old, in that case you're in good company.
