What is the point of a reality show where the sole purpose is to exhbit the morals of an alley cat and get it on with complete strangers in order to win.

I do not understand why it's so popular. It's just a load of wannabes.

"I imagine there's more shagging going on in freshers week at your average Russell group uni."

But freshers at your average Russell Group university don't usually tend to do it for money and fame and in front of millions of people.

YANBU OP. Makes me glad my kids are too young to be interested.

I felt exactly the same as you and attempted to watch the current series but couldn't get into it. then I started watching the first series on Netflix as a friend put it on - oh my, I'm actually addicted to it now 😂😂😂

Vacuous plastic orange people talking utter gobshite!

My teens LOVE it. Drives DH nuts!

They did a great spoof of it on radio 4 dead ringers and then played a real clip, saying " if any of our listeners understand any of the following, go to A and E, because you've had a stroke!" I laughed wryly but then genuinely couldn't grasp a word of what this guy said.

Perhaps it was a brilliant insight, who knows.

It’s just so boring and the contestants seem so dull. The doctor has the personality of a teaspoon and the pretty blonde model seems to find thinking a struggle. The first man into the house (the one who’s just left) looked toddler-like, flapping his hands around.

A group I met up with all started going on about it, felt a mixture of urrgh and left out of the conversation so thought right I shall give it a go. Absolute car crash tv, like that show a while back that had couples on the verge of splitting swap partners and bugger off on holiday, can't remember what it was called.

Does make me despair, most of them all image obsessed and not much going on upstairs. One girl hadn't a clue what brexit was and didn't know the meaning of the word 'aura'. Laura seems quite sweet, I've only got to the episode where she gets a romantic bedroom date with Wes and she rocks up in a straggy vest and shorts like most of us wear to bed on a normal night in.

But judging the program as a whole, back to despair that this seems to be a thing now, getting your face on telly for any old bollocks and that's your shot at being famous for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Especially now I have a baby daughter, just hope it's all out of fashion by the time she grows up. Although I've opened up to watching Love Island, I draw the line at stuff like Kardashians, Made in Chelsea etc. I'd rather be left out of that conversation thanks!

So what I want to know is, they spend all their time in their swimming cossies lolling round the pool - do any of them ever go for a swim?

TV used to be (when we had 4 channels, old lady here) a choice of a BBC drama, a nature programme, something considered slightly alternative, the news etc
Reality TV is the biggest pile of old shite ever.
We now have a choice of;
How fat are you ?
How much fat can you lose?
What shit do you eat?
Are you a shit driver?
Can you get a date?
Do you have any form of disability?
Do you have an unpleasant disease that you’d like televised?
I’m better looking than you and my tits are bigger.
I could go on but quite frankly, I’ve made myself queasy enough.
Reality TV has had a hugely damaging effect on quality TV.
I’m also disturbed by the number of people that think this total crap is entertaining.
