To think Love Island is immensely skanky and shallow

What is the point of a reality show where the sole purpose is to exhbit the morals of an alley cat and get it on with complete strangers in order to win.

I do not understand why it's so popular. It's just a load of wannabes.

I watched one, didn't like it, haven't any plans to watch again.

Though, must say, I have done that with lots of things, my life is too full to spend it watching crap that I find neither entertaining nor informative - so can't get too worked up about it.

Why don't they have 'normal' people on it? Not all young people are obsessed by their looks and work out!

I swear there are more people talking about not watching Love Island than there are talking about the actual show.

That includes here, in my real life, and across all of my social media.

I just cannot fathom using my time to moan about a show I don't even watch. I find it very bizarre.

Love island is not prostitution. Prostitution is where one person accepts money from someone else explicitly for sex. No-one is making the contestants have sex (if they do). The money/prize is not dependent on it. Hence not prostitution.

It's also not soft porn unless you find people in swimwear pornographic

No-one had had sex yet and at the no there is not much chemistry so I reckon chances are low.

I love First Dates, The Undateables etc. I enjoy seeing lovely people pairing off and falling in love. It's heartwarming. Especially when the couples have been through a tough time and really deserve happiness and someone special in their lives.

But LI is the pits. Sod all to do with real dating or relationships. I find it unbelievable that game shows have evolved in to this kind of rubbish.

I don't necessarily consider it porn, or prostitution though. It's purpose is to create scandal, sensationalism and shock-factor "OMG" reactions. It gets people talking. And sex, in all it's forms, sells. Watching sexy/hunky swimwear-clad people working up to shagging each other seems to get in the ratings, sadly. And these contestants know it. They know it will propel their careers and names into the spotlight. They WILL become famous from puerile behaviour and wearing little clothing. The ones who act the most shocking WILL end up with a career when they leave the show. That's what makes me sad. It's such a bad message for our younger generation. They're making it look glamorous to use your body, looks and sex to succeed in life. Yuck.

It's a cheap and nasty show and not what I want my DC watching and learning from.

Teen kids?! Hilarious of course teens can watch it! Do you think a few people in bikinis and topless men should have an 18+ rating?

To fair, people have been using their bodies, looks and sex to succeed in life since....well forever.

It’s utterly trash tv but there is little sex in it and I don’t think any have multiple sexual partners in the show. It focuses on the dynamics of that time in youth in forming relationships within a group, platonic and romantic. Giddy times with hormones everywhere!

People I know that I actually like and respect watch and rave about this programme. I thought I'd give it a try on that basis and it's absolutely horrendous.
