Overall approval rating less than impressive:

Lweji · 15/06/2018 10:24

I read that report (late night) and also Comey's book. Really interesting to compare the two. I like him less today.

See... I was right not to be a fan. Grin Colbert, on the other hand...

ohmymimi · 15/06/2018 10:26

Paulie Walnuts (not sure who coined this, but it is perfect) in court today.

Approval is rising, but it hasn't been positive at all in the last year and a half.
The spin seems to be working for now, or until what KJU didn't want to get stolen by trained divers hits the fan.

ohmymimi · 15/06/2018 10:55

Re. El Presidente's high approval ratings with repugs. The comparison of his following to a cult isn't idle chat, it is a serious and dangerous phenomenon that won't disappear in a 'come to Jesus moment' when he is out of office. He fully knows his power and reach now, at the end of his term he will exploit that to his final breath If he is held to account, he will be their martyr and weapon of disruption; if he is not he will be their hero and weapon of disruption. This is a deep well that has been excavated over decades, we could just be peering over the edge.

Roussette · 15/06/2018 11:17

I have Wimbledon tickets for the Thursday and will definitely be in London on Friday... planning on marching with one or both DDs. Grin

BolleauxtoBankers · 15/06/2018 11:19

Just saw this:

Brian Krassenstein
@krassenstein

Trump is now claiming that any dirt Cohen gives to Mueller can't be trusted since Cohen is only looking to shrink his own possible sentence.

At the same time Hannity just said the same about Manafort.

You morons... Witnesses can't just make crap up, investigators investigate!

In a world where everything that comes out of Trump's mouth is a lie, you can see why his supporters have trouble with accepting truth.

lionheart · 15/06/2018 11:33

Here's the kicker. On how Comey put Lynch and Yates (or DoJ) in an impossible position. Their response was to let him know via the intermediary he had sent that they thought it was a bad idea and strongly advised against it.

His response:

a. "I honestly thought they were taking kind of a cowardly way out.”

b. they did not order me not to do it

BolleauxtoBankers · 15/06/2018 11:34

I'm quite upset as originally, I was planning to be in England for my daughter's graduation the Monday following the march, but as she has opted out in order to work for free at a couple of festivals to raise funds for CND, I won't be making the journey over in July Sad (I hated my own graduation ceremony so not upset about that, but would have liked to have supported the march in person.)
Wimbledon tickets, eh, Roussette, that takes me back a few decades! The last time I went was as a schoolgirl when we could get free tickets returned by people who passed them to us as they were leaving, and had our pick of seats on the Centre Court - many's the Men's Doubles final I've seen from a great vantage point!

BolleauxtoBankers · 15/06/2018 11:39

That's really interesting reading, lionheart. I've not been following Comey, but that really makes him look like a Trumptard shit. Bastard.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/06/2018 12:00

Excellent lionheart and Rousette :)

TheClaws · 15/06/2018 13:18

Oh, he is on a tweetstorm. To give you a hint of his mental state, one of his tweets was this:

Wow, the highest rated (by far) morning show, @foxandfriends, is on the Front Lawn of the White House. Maybe I’ll have to take an unannounced trip down to see them?

This has been followed by a number of stupid Fox retweets.

BolleauxtoBankers · 15/06/2018 13:21

He is so unpresidential, it's ridiculous. (And not in a good way.)

TheClaws · 15/06/2018 13:22

Giuliani is bonkers, but ... (he was on Fox, of course, BTW.)

Trump on Kim Jong Un: “He speaks and his people sit up in attention. I want my people to do the same.”

twitter.com/rebeccaballhaus/status/1007605631359078400

Trump now on/has been on Fox this am. He walked out of WH to where they are broadcasting on WH lawn apparently. Totally spontaneously, of course.

Gumpendorf · 15/06/2018 13:59

TRUMP: I said on the Department of Justice, I would stay uninvolved. Now I may get involved at some point. (He also calls the top of the FBI "scum.") (via FOX) twitter.com/kylegriffin1/status/1007606371154563072/video/1

Gumpendorf · 15/06/2018 14:01

Despite the IG report finding no criminal wrongdoing on James Comey's part, Steve Doocy actually asks "Should James Comey be locked up?"

Trump responds: "Certainly, they just seem like very criminal acts to me." (via FOX) twitter.com/kylegriffin1/status/1007607438860865536/video/1

Here's the video of the KJU comment:

WOW -- Trump says he wants American people to treat him like North Koreans treat totalitarian dictator Kim Jong Un.

Shock
AcrossthePond55 · 15/06/2018 14:05

I don't mean to sound like an apologist, what Comey did was wrong. But I don't think he did it with the express intent of affecting the outcome of the election. I think that Comey allowed his personal political bias and his desire to protect reputation of the FBI to get the better of his judgement. He should have known better. No, he DID know better and proceeded anyway. I'm so disappointed.

AcrossthePond55 · 15/06/2018 14:10

"HIS people"??!!!?? Who the fuck does he think he is? Fuck him with the biggest fuck stick you can find!!!

We are NOT 'his people'! We weren't 'Obama's people', either. We are Citizens of the United States and we 'belong' to NO president, Democratic or Republican.

Next thing you know he'll be referring to us as his 'subjects'.

Something perfect about Trump attempting to give Fox special treatment on the taxpayers’ lawn and getting swarmed by the free press, blowing the exclusive

Trump repeats the claim that he had "so many parents" of Korean War vets ask him during the campaign to help return the remains of Americans who died there. The average age of parents then would have been between 102 and 111. (via FOX) twitter.com/kylegriffin1/status/1007609971561979906/video/1
