To think yummy banana penicillin isn't a thing any more?

DS (3) has had swollen tonsils for over a week, so is now on antibiotics. I was expecting a bottle of that delicious banana gloop I remember from my childhood but instead he has this bright red liquid, of the sort liberally splashed around on Game of Thrones or similarly violent media.

I can just about get it down him but I do feel a bit like the poor mite has been short-changed? Where's the yummy bright yellow banana gloop gone?

My daughter has the penicillin prescribed. My son is much fussiest and I always ask for the sugar one. They will give it to you if requested.

Well, I think the red medicine might be working. 4 doses in and my child has been restored to a near-hyperactive demon.

Or it could just be all the red colouring...

My ds is on the banana one at the moment. He thinks he's very lucky (despite his ear infection) because he loves the taste of it. Ds 2 is very jealous of him at the moment too!
