Booked a swim up room, there are four ground floor apartments in a row, all of us have booked swim up rooms and paid a supplement. Upstairs neighbours currently in our pool, shouting down from balcony, throwing inflatables from balcony. They have climbed over the wall at the end of the pool to get in.

Go shave your legs in the pool. That will get them moving Grin

RoseanneBarred · 02/06/2018 15:57

@AnnieOH1 where is your pic? Looks gorgeous!

RoseanneBarred · 02/06/2018 15:58

@AnnieOH1 Oops I mean description sounds gorgeous Blush

MsPavlichenko · 02/06/2018 15:58

You are paying to stay in a hotel and the services provided. Including staff. It is what they are there for. Simply call, or swing by reception and explain what happened earlier. In your private pool that you are paying for. Be calm, polite and ask them to explain to folk above you that they cannot use your pool. Assume they have misunderstood.

They haven't of course as they climbed a wall. That makes me think that when they next use it, they will be cheeky enough to try and negotiate with you re usage And your DH sounds dopey enough to agree. So nip it in the bud now. You don't need his permission to do so. You don't need to tell him though if it is easier.

MadMags · 02/06/2018 16:02

OP, I’d still mention it to reception.

Why wait until you’re in an awkward position again when it could be avoided by them speaking to her?

NoWordForFluffy · 02/06/2018 16:10

I'd have gone from 0-full blown fishwife in about 5 seconds if it was my pool being invaded! I'd definitely tell them where to go / complain to reception as soon as breathing.

BitOutOfPractice · 02/06/2018 16:19

So she's not a Mexican pool thief?

LoniceraJaponica · 02/06/2018 16:27

I agree that it is still worth mentioning it to reception. No-one had challenged these people so they will try it on again.

Lorddenning1 · 02/06/2018 16:35

Can we have a picture of the pool OP

Rednailsandnaeknickers · 02/06/2018 16:43

Your DH is wetter than any pool OP Confused get them told!!

Cblue · 02/06/2018 16:48

Hahaha.... so you paid for a private pool rather than a swim up!!!

In that case def complain. I agree with the other posters that you talk to management rather than the CFs themselves. The management are paid to sort this type of thing out - it’s what they are there for and what they get paid for.

Get this sorted and have a really lovely holiday!!

I can just about stretch to a swim up but a private pool (other than in a villa) is out of my reach unless we fancy living on baked beans for a month. Now sitting here dreaming of sun beds and cocktails!!!

Let us know how you get on.

bringbacksideburns · 02/06/2018 17:04

Are you bonkers??

Get to reception to report it. I have no idea as to the logistics here but if they have climbed over the wall then surely they are trespassing.

This needn't invoke confrontation if that's what your husband is worried about Hmm

Management can knock on their door and politely remind them they haven't paid the extra (large) amount of money you have to access it.

No brainer.

I have witnessed much CF on holiday. Including some kid who took our expensive Lilo and popped it. Leaving it at the other end of the pool. We'd had it two days - it was one of those sit up chair ones. Parents didn't even notice / give a shit. Because Im afraid there are some people like that. They genuinely dont think about anyone else ever.

CoraPirbright · 02/06/2018 17:10

Oh you can bet your bottom dollar she’ll be back. She has got away with it once, why wouldn’t she do it again if it is much closer to her room and she doesn’t fancy lugging everything to the main pool? Watch out OP - you’ll be enjoying your quiet sun-downer and she will be horsing around in your pool with her kid inches from your room. Get them told!!

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 02/06/2018 17:11

Oh well hopefully they won't come back. Enjoy your holiday OP.

Fintress · 02/06/2018 17:17

Here you go - Pool Hammock. We have one each, they fold down into a circle and spring out when you open them. Bloody brilliant, we love them.

madeyemoodysmum · 02/06/2018 17:35

Blatantly place marking for CF return

Ps love the gibbon video.

Starlight2345 · 02/06/2018 18:03

oooh I have a pool hammock just called it a lilo..Aldi have them for £12.99 at the mo.

MagentaRocks · 02/06/2018 18:08

@JohnnyKarate I thought it was, we went there about 5 years ago but stayed in the hotel side. Our next big holiday is going to be in the casitas side and we are going to upgrade to first class on the flight etc. Although we are thinking of booking an individual casita. It’s our dh retirement holiday.

RockinHippy · 02/06/2018 18:40

Jeez your DH needs to grow a pair, or back off & let you deal with it as you obviously have more balls than he doesShock

Absolute CF, I would be out there like a shot asking her if she realises that this is a private pool & not for her use. Point her to the main pool & tell her she has to leave. If she won't listen or doesn't understand due to speaking a different language then get the hotel to deal with it & insist that you want her out now or a refund as you are not sharing your private pool

WhiteFreesias · 02/06/2018 18:53

Figmentofimaginationthat looks lovely, where was it? Wine

Rainbunny · 02/06/2018 19:47

If it's like this pic then they would be invading your personal patio area right?

Don't be shy about complaining to the hotel though!

Figmentofimagination · 02/06/2018 21:38

@WhiteFreesias it was in kalithea in rhodes. I think it was called Kresten royal hotel or something like that. We were really lucky, we had only paid for a basic hotel room, but they had upgraded us to a suite with our own pool before we had arrived.

KeiTeNgeNge · 02/06/2018 21:49

Did you speak to reception?

ToffeePennie · 02/06/2018 22:20

How very rude of them! Must be obvious on their booking they didn’t have that pool!

BarbraDear · 02/06/2018 22:25

Waaaaahhhh I want a swim up room!
