Booked a swim up room, there are four ground floor apartments in a row, all of us have booked swim up rooms and paid a supplement. Upstairs neighbours currently in our pool, shouting down from balcony, throwing inflatables from balcony. They have climbed over the wall at the end of the pool to get in.

I'm sorry but if you are incapable of telling them, you deserve to lose your pool.

Grasias · 02/06/2018 13:37

OP I'm in a minority of one here but I wouldn't want to say anything either. I hate confrontation and would avoid it at all costs. Yes wet. DH if anything even wetter.
I would speak to hotel reception though.

kattekitt · 02/06/2018 13:39

I certainly would have phoned reception and got the manager to deal with this and also get them moved so it couldn’t happen again.

You’ve no doubt paid a small fortune for the privilege of your own pool, and you deserve to be able to enjoy it.

JohnnyKarate · 02/06/2018 13:39

@KirstenRaymonde & @Noloudnoises

It's the El Dorado Casitas Royale by Karisma, Riviera Maya, Mexico

www.tui.co.uk/destinations/caribbean/mexico/mexico-caribbean-coast/riviera-maya/hotels/el-dorado-casitas-royale-a-spa-resort-by-karisma.html

FYI I do not work for TUI 😂

BewareOfDragons · 02/06/2018 13:40

Let the hotel deal with them but do ask that they do so. You paid a premium to peacefully enjoy your swim up room. They didn't. Not your problem.

ijustwannadance · 02/06/2018 13:41

I always think of them like a lazy river that goes past all ground floor rooms like a moat then connects to a main pool.

All the pics make me want a holidaySad

Candlelight123 · 02/06/2018 13:44

I can't believe you went out and left her in your private pool! Get back and get the CF told!

PotteryLady · 02/06/2018 13:46

Just tell her - she might not know.

SoupDragon · 02/06/2018 13:48

Mummyoflittledragon I only know it’s mesh because I bought two from Aldi last week :)

GinUnicorn · 02/06/2018 13:50

I'd personally wuss out but ask reception to have a word.

Really want a holiday now!

SauvignonBlanche · 02/06/2018 13:52

I don’t understand these threads, you know they’re being CFs, you come on here and tell us but do nothing about it.

Cblue · 02/06/2018 13:54

Justwannadance - yes, that’s what they are. And I just wanna say yet again.....it’s a swim up NOT a private pool they paid for according to the OP!!!!!!!

So they haven’t got a leg to stand on (or swim on).

The OP needs to confirm exactly what the brochure said vs what they actually have been provided with.
If it doesn’t say PRIVATE then it’s not for their exclusive use no matter what they thought.

Mind you, I wouldn’t have the cheek to use it if I were their neighbors but it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be entitled to use it.

HolyMountain · 02/06/2018 13:54

All of you who would be afraid of being direct, come on, show some metal! Grin.

You've paid extra for the privilege of a private swim up pool and you'd let a random stranger just dive in without question then you leave for brunch therefore hoping they'll be gone by the time you get back?

Unbelievable.

FreeMantle · 02/06/2018 14:06

You can tell people nicely too.

"You obviously haven't realised but this is a private pool that is part of our apartment. Costs a fortune ( grimace/ laugh) . The main pool is over there."

TheMaddHugger · 02/06/2018 14:10

@Cblue ok, but I doubt the establishment would be blase about the OH&S being flaunted by going over the rails

Cblue · 02/06/2018 14:18

I agree that there is an issue with the neighbors accessing it via the rails and there is also the issue of throwing inflatables from their room and the issue of noise. And they SHOULD complain about these.
But many posters are saying to tell the irritating neighbors to get out of their pool when they will find they have absolutely no right to tell them to do this. It’s not their pool.

The OP hasn’t updated us so I expect they have also realised it’s not their pool

Mascarponeandwine · 02/06/2018 14:23

Do the holiday details specifically say private pool, or just swim up pool? I thought you paid extra for the swim up to your accommodation element, nor for the pool being exclusive use.

We need a diagram of the pool, apartments and wall OP!!

WowLookAtYou · 02/06/2018 14:23

I too might assume that the OP's room just has direct access to a 'branch' of a lazy river meandering around the site on its way back to one of the main pools. I've always avoided those, as I don't like the idea of someone swimming past the end of my balcony/terrace when I'm lying sunbathing. Seems more intrusive than at the actual pool, as it seems part of one's private space.
But, as she hasn't been back to clarify, who knows?

QueenOfMyWorld · 02/06/2018 14:23

Get out of our pool you cheeky bitch should work

DartmoorDoughnut · 02/06/2018 14:30

I want a holiday

JohnnyKarate · 02/06/2018 14:35

OP is probably busy enjoying her holiday.

CandleWithHair · 02/06/2018 14:47

@johnnykarate I’ve stayed there! There’s a pool per group of villas, with your own swim up bar. Really great hotel, and there are giant iguanas everywhere! sadly I was there with my ExH just before we split so not the best visit! 😂

Alwayslumpyporridge · 02/06/2018 15:06

No it’s not a lazy rive, it’s four pools. I am not in Mexico either.

Update is no sign of CF, will keep you updated, if she goes in pool will use all suggested phrases and report back.

I want one now!

Hi op. Thought you’d got lost. Hope the cfuckers don’t come back.

Tistheseason17 · 02/06/2018 15:10

I think a piccie would help 😉
